Maybe even Stanford if we can eventually begin getting a following.
It would just impress recruits if we were playing in front of 14,000 twice a year.

Maybe one day.
Also, Chase is a magnificent place to link to Cal. LA friends down for UCLA were stunned.

Zero interest.
Where are you getting 14,000 a game? The attendance was 7,243, pretty low if you consider Chase holds 18,000.
It's subjective, but I find the place a bit sterile and uninviting, not enough windows like Oracle Arena has. Anyway, yes to more California team rivalries, no to making loyal season ticket holders shell out another 60 bucks at Chase every year.

Agree that playing in the ACC, we need to be scheduling California and West Coast teams OOC, I think it could make for a very compelling ticket package.

Agreed. Bad idea to play at Chase.
We converted Harmon to Haas for a reason. Let's fill up Haas and provide a true home court advantage. When filled it's a better place for a college basketball game than Chase will ever be. The hell with Chase.

As I understand it, one reason for neutral site games is that a promoter contributes NIL money for each team's players. I wouldn't do it for conference games, but otherwise it's fine if it generates money that helps to retain players.

Duke plays all their home games at Cameron.
If you get good enough it doesn't matter where you play.
Haas, like Cameron, can become a huge home court advantage.
I wouldn't go to games at Chase, and no I did not go last week either. Screw that high priced rip off house.

I went but all the good food venues were closed.ended up paying $34 for a chicken sandwich and a non coke which made me sick later. Nates bbq and the burger place were closed. I would not return. Plus no Cal band as evidently they wanted to charge the band full price for floor seats
Bring back It’s It’s to Haas Pavillion!

My idea of a basketball facility was Harmon Gym. The farther you deviate from that the farther you are from basketball.

Agreed! Nothing else will ever compare to Harmon.

Sadly, they have further deviated from Harmon a little bit (or more) just about every year since Haas opened. The folks calling those shots probably got their degree in sports marketing from Wichita State or wherever but never saw a game in Harmon.

Well - there really isn't anyone calling the shots at Haas. It is more like people in various departments simply doing what they were told. Such as open the doors for a basketball game at [time], have security show up, open [x] concession stands, monitor ticket doors, etc.

Its not like there is anyone who's job is to make Haas a positive experience. It is multiple entities (like MBB) which are sharing a building among other facilities with vastly different purposes (compare to Valley LSB).

Best example is security check in. I don't think Madsen is meeting with someone and saying "Hey, you know what would be great! A bunch of people in yellow jackets making the first impression of every visitor the worst thing possible."
