How long do you want to ignore this user?
14 plus three point shots made. Atrocious defense. Lazy passing, stagnant sets, standing, watching no discipline.

Can't stay in front of your man.

This is why HD is NOT the man to lead this program. Stanford had no business even thinking they had a chance tonight. They have one player and we let him do whatever he wanted Ala Miller of Smu.

Did they not have a scouting report?

HD absolutely should be on the hot seat. This is entirely unacceptable.

I never seen so many wide open threes.
We're switching on every ball screen which is stupid we're getting the big men out of position who can't guard on a perimeter and guards who can't guard big man in the post.
That's why the defense is out of balance and you right some of the laziest passes Stevenson had a bunch of lazy passes tonight.
Evans is a horrible defender as well as offensive player please bench him.
Didn't see Powell or Dixon enough tonight.
At all piss poor coaching performance by Hubert but that's his norm.

Personally, this loss has been the most aggravating one to me out of the three this team now has on the season, because they absolutely let it slip away. They were up by 12 or so at least twice...

The perimeter defense in this game reminds me of previous seasons...all a team has to have is at least one guy capable of shooting 3's at a good enough rate, and they'll have a great chance to beat this team.

28 minutes and 3 points for Evans tonight.

He shot 45% from three last season but he's down to 31% this year.

Something is not right.

He was not good at Colorado State, he got hot toward the end of the year and parlayed that into portal hype and money. He is who he was the first half the season last year. An average basketball player, bad facilitating point guard and he is atrocious on defense. At this point, just play Dixon and live and die with him.

Part of being a good coach also involves being able to evaluate talent. We are not going to be able to compete with Duke in terms of always getting every top tier name in high school and the portal. But one can look at the fact HD goes after CGs who all seem to have the same deficiencies.

I watched some of Tommy and Greg's postgame video….they mentioned that we had the lead at half, shot 65% in the 2nd half, and still lost!. Greg also said that in the 4 ACC games this season the opponents have hit 14's per game.

edited to say - I didn't watch the game. I realized during the SMU game that it is just the same dance with a different song. Such a shame that we will waste this season with a generational talent.

I am so tired of hearing Hubert say in press conferences, "We've talked about.......I always tell them......" How about freaking teaching and coaching and stop talking? The following is from Adam Lucas.

Okorie unfortunately continued a rough trend for the Heels. The opposing leading scorer has exceeded his season scoring average in every game since the season opener (when there was no leading scorer entering the game). Okorie entered the night averaging 22.1 points per game and put up 36. That's the third straight opposing point guard who has scored at least 27 points against UNC.

That is a total lack of defense from lack of coaching. How do uou not improve after three months?

In our last 3 games teams have gone 44-90 from 3. That's (basically) 50%. If it were one game, ok fine. Chalk it up to a career night. But 3 in a row isn't a fluke, that's a trend. The "blueprint" is out and teams are successfully attacking UNC with it getting a TON of open, uncontested looks in the process. You just can't do that game in and game out at this level. But on the recent weekly ACC call, Davis doesn't think switching on screens is an issue and has no intention of trying a different approach. I'm not sure how this gets any better.

Lazy passes piss me off so much. It's something that's entirely avoidable and almost always leads to easy points for the bad guys. What happened to getting benched for that sort of thing? I miss those days…

I recall coach Williams harping on little things like running off the floor. When I see timeouts and people walking to the bench, there is an issue.

For years, there's always been "that guy" on "lesser" teams that lights us up. You'd think our coaches would recognize that at some point in the game and change up the defense to account for it.

Right now we're getting lit up by everyone. We knew Okorie was their main threat. Didn't matter. Torched us for 36. To add insult to injury Dent-Smith came off the bench and blistered us for another 20 hitting SIX OF SEVEN threes because there wasn't a defender anywhere near him.

Basically the same song and dance we saw in a close game against Wake and a curb stomping by SMU. I agree with you that we've seen that sort of thing in the past (Harold "The Show" Arceneaux is one that for some reason jumps out) but in this case, it's just piss poor defense. One game, fine. 3 games in a row? That's not a fluke.

If that is to happen, then the writing has to be clear for ALL. I love HD as a person, and is a great assistant coach, but he's not the leader UNC needs. The combo guard idea needs to go to. I think a CG is legit if a top 5 player from an elite school, but otherwise CG is a guard who in most cases is just not a great shooter and/or decision maker.

After reviewing the film against Furd, the Tar Heels are going to be focused this afternoon and guard the perimeter as if their lives depended upon it.

I would have preferred the Tar Heel's kicking Furd's butt and coming to Haas way over confident.

As well it should be: they just got swept on a road trip to Stanford and Cal.,, and even the refs couldn't save them, though they certainly did everything they could. Safe to say they will no longer be ranked.
