Not even really talking about last game because of the unusual circumstances and two overtime periods but I don't understand why DJ doesn't get more minutes over TT. TT does some things well and he is young but DJ is currently a much better player overall right now and is one of the few players who can get to the basket and finish as well as drawing fouls. He also is a much better shooter as TT has a very flat shot which mixed with his already low release due to his height leads to him getting blocked a lot.
I also think that in some games the rotation probably needs to be shortened. Dorsey I think is often scared to shoot the ball and I think that makes him hard to play. Especially towards the end of a game (not the Syracuse game due to length) the bench should be shortened and the only subs should really be for Ilic if in foul trouble or maybe Bell and DJ. Other than that there shouldn't be almost any time in the last 10 minutes of a game where Pippen and Ames(and the other starters as well but esp them) aren't in. There should be no reason they can't play 35+ minutes in a game with all the TV timeouts. I know there have been games where they have played this long but I also know there have been games where I have thought that the rotation was to deep in a close game down the stretch.
I know Madsen has his reasons for it probably and I am not saying they are wrong, but I am not sure what they are and it is just something I have thought when watching and was curious if anyone else felt this way as well.
