Took a few seasons but getting a dude with hops like Dort shows he can find and get good talent

Really? I'm reading this *** graph as Cal falling below the midline, meaning underachieved.
Madsen is a good recruiter, no doubt, but bragging rights can only be earned if you notch a "good get" (JW, Dai Dai, maybe Dort) and then HOLD that recruit for more than one season. So far he's 0-for-everyone on that score, let's see what happens with Dai Dai and this Mitrovic kid.

You are reading this graph incorrectly. Notice that Cal falls just outside the group of teams identified as "did a ton with a little."

Correct that Cal is not in the "did a ton with a little bucket" but Cal is on the high (better) side of the expected trend (the gray area). You want to be above or on the high side of the gray band. I interpret this as good, not great.
