I do hope they make a deep run in the NIT and Madsen returns next year but just reading the tea leaves - it appears he will bolt if offered ASU position

Everything I have read indicates he has no plans to leave. However, if we don't get more alumni, fan and administrative support by the end of next season, he would be wise to have a foot out the door.

I'm glad you aren't involved in the search. This is the list of names that JK gave me when he was looking to replace Jones (and admitted he had no idea about MBB coaches - just what he heard from fans) and I sent him another list with 30 serious contenders - which he ignored.

I really would like Madsen to stay so we can build off the momentum from this year.

That being said, if he does leave, I think my top choice would be Eric Olen. Has experience at a UC from his time at UCSD, where he did a fantastic job. And he overachieved in his first year at UNM.

richard, ur hostile comment is kinda confusing, when u bumped into me on the putting green at desert highlands last year why did u graciously invite me to come play ur club in san diego with u??

and back in the day u would pump me for recruiting updates on gamedays based upon my relationships with the coaches & de facto work as the team's general manager??

r u saying ur the kinda person who says one things to people to their faces & then talks **** about them later on??

gotta be honest with u, richard. the non inclusive "insiders" on this board like u who have overseen the 200+ losses & the decimation of the fanbase since the termination of cal's monster class are certainly an aggressive bunch

It's really really simple.

Back in the day you were a supporter of everything Cal. You were a proud donor. Now you're trying to destroy any progress we are making. This negativity gets really tired when folks like BG and SB are working their butts off to constructively build something here at Cal.

Why are we feeding fires that MadDog will/should leave, when we should be shoring up our support for him.

Are you the kind of person who tells Cal fans they aren't good enough fans and then goes on a call with an opposing school and shyte talks Cal in furtherance of getting them to hire our coach and then comes on here to brag that you did that? And just in case anyone missed that you did that, goes on the football board to post the same brag there? I'm not sure anyone needs fans who actively try to hurt the program. Criticizing things in hopes of making a change is a lot different that knifing the program while simultaneously helping another school.
