It would be really nice to get another shot at Syracuse after the heartbreaking double OT loss back there earlier in February.

P.S. With all respect to the young people in uniforms and timing they could not control; I found it a little weird having the ROTC with their symbolic weapons in the gym after global might-makes-right developments in the last two days. Just my personal emotional cognitive dissonance under the circumstances. Basketball and sports in general should transcend geopolitics (look at most rosters) and bring the world together bottoms-up.

Some more thoughts after the final season home game:
The high level Maul, Sheppard and Twidale are playing at gives me hope for winning some rounds in the playoffs.
Walker has taken her game up a level, scoring and rim protecting.
Lola would be a starter and leader on many D1 teams. I hope she doesn't leave and come back to haunt the Bears.
I like Morris off-the-bench. Bench points and defense matter vs. opposing benches; Puff brings a different skillset at PG from Mjracle Sheppard and I think opposing teams have trouble adjusting.
Claudia and Sakima on the floor together changes the game. Claudia is much more effective at power forward, away from the rim where she can use her screen and passing skills. She dribbles around and shoots early in some sequences when better ball movement and shot selection choices might be available for better shots. She needs better layup fundamentals in her driving finishes.
Naya is a multi position player who plays with toughness but often has to matchup to centers who have a lot of length which is a demanding role for someone 6'1".
#13 seed Stanfurd blowing out #9 Clemson today did not help #10 Cal's NET ranking. Unexpected.
Honestly I don't think Lindsay would win as many games as Charmin with this team. Charmin had a lot to overcome this year- especially when starting forward Barnes (and starting PG Puff for many games) went down. Charmin's passion fills the gym.
If Cal stays focused for 48 minutes in each round, and makes good basketball decisions I could see them outperforming their season NET rating and being a 10+ seed in March Madness. The SMU game showed what they are capable of.

Watching Sakima 3-point attempt was comical...even she was laughing at herself.

IMHO Taylor is or soon will be at that level.

> J1953, with all due respect, I don't recall seeing you post on this forum this year, and I believe your evaluation of our team is extremely more positive than it really should be. I don't like to be critical but it appears you've drawn too many conclusions based on today's game only. We played a very poor SMU squad. Claudia has been very ineffective at any role, she is only getting significant minutes due to Taylor's injury. Puff really struggles defensively. Lola is a serviceable player but would have a hard time finding a starter's role on most of the top 100 teams. Mjracle definitely has many strengths, but her ability to finish a play offensively is very volatile. Not a dependable shooter, even from close range. And as effective as Sakima can be, sometimes she plays a bit too soft and is prone to make turnovers.
Only Lulu and Gisella play up to the level of Big Dance type caliber players. Keep in mind, I am a big fan of every player on our squad, they give great effort. But my evaluation is based on what I've seen over 31 games, not 1.

Cal has the potential to win two games in the ACC Tournament. The Bears need to play their best, however. They defeated Wake Forest at home and traveled to New York to go three overtimes with Syracuse. I would think that the team needs a minimum of 20 wins to have a chance at the NCAA Tournament. Perhaps, the two wins would
do it. If Wake Forest upsets us, it's over for this year. GO BEARS!
