Just watched Duke--a team I like because of their coach, Kara Lawson--barely beat Notre Dame in the ACC semis, despite Hildago's considerable effort. How did Cal manage to win against them? Home-court advantage? Exceptional defense against H.H.? Anyway, I quite enjoy watching her play, the little ferret--never still for an instant.

Biggest factor was us hitting on 10 of 14 three's (71%). Sheppard also had a very good offensive game (18 points), and we did make Hidalgo work for every shot. With Morris out, Sheppard played 39 minutes, as did Maul. Lulu played 40. We shot 33 free throws, they shot only 12. They had 25 fouls, we had 9. We were ready for this game, and Notre Dame didn't match our intensity.

We did have 19 TO's. But in this game, we had many offsetting positive stats to overcome them.

Mjaricle's defense was the difference. Individual games depend on defensive intensity. As the season wore on, ours lessened.
