Anyone see the postgame exchange with Geno and Dawn after South Carolina beat UConn?

Dawn's postgame comments were quite calm...you could see she wanted to say more, but she held back.

Then see Geno's comments during the presser after:

https://www.espn.com/video/clip/_/id/48391259

If there was no pregame shaking of hands...okay I can understand the feeling of being slighted. But maybe...just maybe there was a reason for it? In any case, take it offline. Contact her privately. Find out why and then see if it warrants.

And his tone during the postgame presser? What an a**hole.

Instead, Geno decided to do it publicly and do it after his 50+ game winning streak ended...when his team did not play well enough to win. He CHOSE to do it then.

Jerk. And he's always been one.

Will this hurt his ability to being in the better players? I hope so. Probably won't, but I hope so.

Would he have done that to Tara?

He was mad/pissy during the in-game/halftime interview already.

Lame apology they put out today, didn't even mention Dawn Staley

"Jerk. And he's always been one."

I agree 100%

He did it to Pat Summit so probably

SO last year Uconn waxed South Carolina in the Championship game. Paraphrasing Staley's comments she said they ran into a better team. A much better team. Gave credit where it was due and then turned around coached the **** out of her players to be ready this time. During summer practices she permanently displayed the final score from the loss and prepped her team masterfully to shake down Uconn this time. They took 2 of the best players in college right out of their games. It was impressive. But ass face has to make it about him getting screwed over and physically having the "**** beat out" of his players. Liar

His rant during the game actually in between the 3rd and 4th qtrs and he ranted about the ripped jersey, Staley berating the officials etc.

But wait, there is video of his player ripping HER OWN damn jersey out of frustration. But he was shook to his core that someone had dared to rip the jersey of his player. What a tool.

If there was no pregame shaking of hands...okay I can understand the feeling of being slighted.

Turns out, there is VIDEO of Staley shaking his hand before the game at mid court. What the hell is wrong with him.

And what a sorry ass apology on Saturday. Didn't even mention Staley by name and still hasn't given her team real credit.

I love that Staley didn't back down one bit from him right at the end of the game. I can't help but wonder if he feels threatened by women that out coach him like Summit did on occasion. And he was out coached Friday, make no mistake.

You know, now that I think back, he can be such ass that he once had a near mutiny maybe a decade ago. There was a few players that were thinking of quitting, maybe more than a few. Hell, even further back, he was part of the reason Elena Della Donne left Uconn, I mean it was for family really, but he made it a much easier decision.

Also, I have read articles that have said that Paige Bueckers hates him.

Lots of coaches have been tough and have been a-holes, but I have found I just don't like his pompous ass.

I'm a Geno fan, and this was simply embarassing.

He should know better. A lot better.

The original incident was beyond unsportsmanlike. Not only did he decline her handshake but he yelled at her, and had to be held back. He then went straight to the exit without going through the handshake line for the players and coaches, nor supported his own team who were devastated by the loss

In post game he was unapologetic… "I've been in 25 Final Fours, blah, blah, blah…"

As pointed out the things he said in the postgame wasn't even true.

But even worse was his written apology which he had time to reflect upon before writing.

Poor loser, classless and will be a lasting memory of him for a long time

In post game… Dawn was 100% right stay focused on the mission

Along with the Final Four, the coaches have their annual convention.
I'm sure he was still in town on Saturday. He could have easily gone to see Coach Staley and apologize in person and then issue a statement with a mention of that in-person meeting.

But, oh no!! Such arrogance.

I didn't know there was video of a pregame greeting. So a bold face lie... or senile.

Makes me wonder what he does for fun...if anything.

Not only that, she went all of the way down his bench to shake hands or hug EVERY single member of his staff too!

There is a bit more tho and later, after the handshake, he did wait for a couple minutes for a 2nd handshake. But many coaches don't expect a 2nd shake and in the Championship Cori Close and Dawn did not have a 2nd shake either.
