Bears really need to win all their games (5) to have a chance to make the ACC playoffs. Tough task vs UVA #23 and then vs the Furds for the final 3 games. Bears missing a number of their starters include a top hitter Jacob French. Anyone knows exactly his injury. He's been out some 2 weeks now.

No run support. Cal pitcher Gavin Eddy struck out 14 Virginia batters and the best his teammates could do was 1-run. What a shame.

Cal rallied from a 0-4 deficit to defeat UVA 8-7!! Jeff Kenady's grand slam in the 7th propelled the Bears to the win. Bats came alive in today's game with 3 homers. Let's sweep the furds next week. Go Bears!

By taking 2 of 3 from Virginia, we knocked them out of the Top 25!
Despite the heartbreaking 2-1 loss to Virginia, Cal pitcher Gavin Eddy was recognized by the conference for his effort:

ACC Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Gavin Eddy, California, R-So., (Claremont, Calif.)
  • Struck out 14 hitters over 7.0 innings against No. 23 Virginia.
  • His strikeout total is the most by a Golden Bear since 2011.
  • Allowed just one run on three hits throughout his fourth consecutive quality start.
  • Struck out the side in the first inning and carried a no-hitter into the fifth inning.
Games with the Furds start Thursday.
ACC Tournament begins Tuesday May 19.
