Kocanas and Dut are nearly useless.
Their guy Udeh looks like the character Chris Partlow from The Wire. I'd be hesitant to take it to the rack against him.
Dort is not good at creating shots for Camden-Bell, and Rytis is more for defense, which is not how we're going to beat a Miami. If those two were playing today we'd be down by 10+, many fewer attempts for our outside guys and bank on at least three fumbles by Dort inside.

Frustrating. Guys play hard and well but we totally don't have the horses to hang with a team like this ;-(
Fouls are killing us. The game is slipping away.
Cal is going to have to be perfect here. Officials called four shooting fouls on Cal in the first two minutes of the second half and now Miami is in the bonus for the final 14:53. And the Bears are going to have to get every rebound. Miami is just going to attack the rim the rest of the game.
Really disappointed in Ilic. No scoring, no prescience on the defensive end. Simply not a D1 player.

If you don't think missing Dort significantly hurts us, I don't know what to tell you.
He's our only ACC-level big. It's nearly impossible to beat a tourney-level team without at least one big that has to be respected in the paint.

He has been playing international ball since 2024 so he already has more substantive experience than most D1 players

We're getting killed on the boards and in points in the paint. Dort would be a big help.

Yes, his absence hurts us in some ways, but everything with him is a tradeoff, I'm saying his presence would not change the final score of this game in a positive direction. His 8 points and a single block every game comes at the expense of other players in the lineup, I don't know how you're arguing otherwise. .

You are insane if you actually believe Dort doesn't positively impact this team. With him, we're a fringe tourney team. Without him, we lose to bottom feeders like FSU. I can't even believe you're trying to make this argument. Dort is arguably the most important single piece on this team given our complete lack of big man depth.

Correct. We're losing right now because we stopped scoring outside, not because of our six-rebound deficit. Dort picking up 4 or 5 more rebounds does not move the needle. You don't think having the ability to actually defend inside or rebound would benefit the team if/when we get cold from outside? And you don't think actually having some inside presence that has to be respected would benefit our perimeter players at all?

We might be scoring less outside because Miami doesn't have to worry about us scoring inside. Then there's our defense.
