If Yeanay starts playing now will he still qualify for a year's redshirt eligibility?

Google AI says in NCAA basketball, you lose a year even if you play 1 game. Unless there's a medical hardship reason (which is usually an injury that happens in 1st half of season),

With rosters in a state of annual flux as they are now, it doesn't seem to make sense to worry about things like that anymore. My only question is, can he help us this season?

Yeanay and Dorsey are listed as GTD tonight - so seems like Yeanay is getting close.

I hope we can get him back for SMU 11 days from now, that is the biggest game remaining in terms of the quality of the opposition. We can beat all the other opponents with the current lineup if there is no letdown.

without Dort we can't count any game as a win

Yes, we absolutely need Dort back for SMU, but we also need him back for the next game vs Stanford

Our interior defense in the second half was bad. If we play like that, we will lose to Stanford. Hoping Dort or yeaneh can play more than 3 minutes. I wonder if we slacked off after getting a big lead.

Yeah, I've seen the men and women go into cruise control recently after building early leads to let their opponents back into it

We've handled Furd fairly well without Dort in the first game, all I'm saying here is that if Dort could use more time for a fuller recovery, we shouldn't rush him.

If you take out SMU, the combined conference record of our remaining opponents is 12-37.

If he is healthy and able he needs to play. Strategy is out the door now. We need to get wins wherever we can. No let up. They played very good basketball today. The void in rebounding is needed with Dort but other than that one could not ask for more in the play. Was hoping just to see more than 3 minutes out of Yeanay, but after a year out it is well when we can bring him along slowly and today we were able to do so.

True, but on the flip side Syracuse had lost six of their last seven conference games before playing Cal. It's a good conference again this year, so can't take anything for granted.

dort played 3/4 of that game. he was a big reason for our comeback in the first half

Dort if healthy has to play. He and Ilic are a nice duo. And 10 combined fouls. And Yeaney can also likely provide some minutes as well. And more fouls to use.

Cal needs everyone that is available to be ready to go. You can hopefully manage Dort's minutes some vs Stanford but I would not want his first game back to be SMU. SMU is a tough matchup for Cal.

I've been told Lee is training to maybe play Saturday. I really hope he can play.

I know Yeanay is rusty but I before he got game action, anyone know how long he had been a Le to practice with the team?

Dort's status for Stanfurd game is 'Questionable' per today's ACC availability report.

Questionable sounds lime he's out today, doesn't it? So sick of the cat-and-mouse games Cal has played on injuries, first Rytis, now Dort.

my assumption is he's out until i see him on the floor. don't know why we always seem to have a player in this "will he/won't he" spot, season after season

Stanfraud center is a 35% foul shooter. No lay ups! I think we can handle him with back ups.

I think questionable means there's a possibility that he'll be able to play. If they listed him on the injury report as OUT, then they aren't allowed to change their minds at the last minute. I don't have an issue with them listing someone as 'questionable' if the injury status is such that they might be ready to play.
