Marcus Zelee is a 6-3 guard from Austin, Texas. Sam Kayser reports that Zelee is taking an official visit to Cal this weekend, May 6-8.



He decommitted from Iowa State last summer, and Tobias Bass of The Athletic posted a list of interested schools:

Cal
Houston
Mississippi State
Charlotte
Seton Hall
Washington State
Fresno State
Memphis
Temple
San Diego State
East Carolina
UMass
Bowling Green
Kansas State
UIC
Seattle

Workin It Hoops adds Virginia Tech to that list, and says that Zelee "recently completed a Zoom with Cal" as of April 20. This weekend's visit would appear to be the next step.

That's a pretty wild list of interested schools.

247 also has offers from ASU, Drake, Long Island, Northeastern and Texas AM Corpus Christi so it looks like a guy who has been under recruited but picking up P4 steam.

A follow up. Marcus Zelee visited Cal and included some pictures in the traditional #notcommitted post.



Tobias Bass says that Zelee is currently visiting Wes Miller and Charlotte, and will proceed to visit Grant McCasland and Texas Tech tomorrow and Wednesday.

Is posting that you are #notcommitted after you visit a school a thing? Does it carry any meaning or weight? I hope that's not the case and he finds Cal to be a good place for him to develop while playing against ACC level talent.

Yes, very common so people are clear a player is not committed after a visit wearing a team's jersey
