Smith's brief opening and what she didn't say spoke volumes! IOW, she's happy with the win, but oh my, there's going to be some intense film review with the players!

I'm glad Coach spoke up in defense of Twidale, because she didn't have a bad shooting game.

Re: Lulu's shooting...Virginia Tech's starting guard, Wenzel (#1), was 4-18 against Stanford, including an amazing 1-12 on 2 pointers.

Lulu had a really good reply as well emphasizing team play/goals over individual accomplishments. "We got the win" that's what is important or something to that effect.

Well done, Lulu.

Just watched it. Players usually appear kind of subdued in these pressers--no doubt sheer exhaustion--and I was charmed when Sakima perked up at the mention of Puff.

Interesting, I hadn't noticed but I was watching 'Nothing but Net' on ACCN later and they kept talking about how important Kymora Johnson was to UVa, particularly. Kelly Grambling kept talking about needing Kymora to score 20-25 pts per game, well, we held her to 10 pts -- her lowest in ACC play. So impressive.

I would have loved to have scored more in the final 2-3 minutes, but it was nice to win on the defensive end ... and Kima's defense and rebounding on the final two possessions was amazing.

good observations. When Claudia got her 2 footer blocked when we were up only 2 and with around 30 seconds left, I knew we were in deep trouble. Amazing defensive effort. I don't remember ever making a stop like that.
