Of the 4 regular season games that Cal has left, Clemson and Miami are probably the hardest, then comes Florida State, then comes SMU. All 4 are winnable, and, of course, all 4 are losable.

Florida State has no injuries to report. Cal is currently 10th in the ACC at 7-7, and FSU is 14th at 4-10. Cal is 55 in NET rankings, and FSU is 107, as of today. If Cal was to win, this would count as a Quad 3 win, making the Quad 3 record 3-1. It is the final Quad 3 game of the regular season. Clemson and Miami are Quad 2, and SMU is Quad 4.

FSU's best win was against Miami, 87-70 at home, where they average 1596 fans. Cal averages 1817. They are 0-14 in Quad 1 and 2 games (their defeat of Miami is considered Quad 3, as they were the home team.)

They have the ACC's 8th highest scorer in Sole Williams, averaging 15.6 points. (Lulu averages 14.8 as Cal's leading scorer). Pania Davis is their leading rebounder, at 6.2 (Sakima is at 6.4).

As a team they average 73.5 points and allow 76.5 points. Cal is 69.6 and 63.8. One site I looked at said that they average 36.8 rebounds to Cal's 32.4, and another site said 42 to 34.8, advantage FSU.

AI predicts: Cal 74, FSU 68.

And in terms of "what are they playing for"...Cal would love to finish 5-7 in the ACC, at worst 8-9, to have a first round bye. FSU is trying to finish in the top 15 in order to get one game in the ACC tournament. They are in 14th, battling Wake Forest and SMU for one of those last slots, ending the regular season against WF with Cal, Stanford and Duke before that...so they have to feel that a win against Cal would help tremendously.

I'm sure Charmin has frequently reminded them since Sunday how extremely important these next four regular season games are for their NCAA Tournament hopes.

Fyi. In the pics posted on Instagram tonight by Cal WBB showing the team arriving at the Tallahassee airport, it appears that Lola is OK after her apparent injury on Sunday.

2025-26 Women's Basketball Roster - Florida State University

Amaya Bonner is starting for the Seminoles and is second in assists. She averages 6 points per game. Florida State knows how to score the basketball but is not a strong defensive team. GO BEARS!

Prior to this year's collapse, FSU had made the NCAA tournament 18 times in 20 seasons. Will be interesting to see where their program goes from here..

They still have some size on this team, but have an overall negative assist\TO ratio. We need to take advantage of that.

I'm usually disappointed when a player transfers out unless it's a clear misfit. A transfer probably means the player is not happy here and often indicates a failure in evaluation by the school and/or the player. Unless it's only money. Sometimes it's OK, like when a player moves to a higher or lower level and thrives.

maan, dunno, but pretty sure much of the time, these days, it's all about the money.

Amaya Bonner is from Fremont and graduated from Bishop O'Dowd HS.

When she came to Cal as a freshman, the guard position already had Leilani, Jayda Curry, Mia Mastrov, Kemery Martin and Karisma Ortiz vying for playing time.

I think she grew impatient as the season wore on and decided a change of scenery was in her best interests for her sophomore season.

Oh, gosh, another game to worry about. However, I worry about all the games, and am often pleasantly surprised. Go, Puff, go!

When she wasz here, my memory without looking it up is that she didn't shoot the three well . saw her playin high school and she didn't shoot the three well there too. She has improved at FSU.

Well, Amaya didn't shoot anything well today - 1 for 10 from the field. She led FSU with 3 steals though.

Amaya looks to be a defensive specialist with her size and athleticism, but yeah, not a shooter

I am surprised she isn't more of a scorer however

Happy the Bears were victorious and also bested the ex Bear!

The Bears control their own destiny. Great job today. Now it's time to buckle down and win these next three. You don't want to go 2-for-3 and leave any room for error heading into the ACC Tournament. In my opinion, 20-11 gets you in regardless of what happens in the ACC Tournament.

I also couldn't help but think if we can keep this young nucleus together next year, and you factor in the recruits coming in, that's a deep, deep team. Twidale, Sheppherd, Barnes, Puff, Naya… and those two Aussies look incredible on tape. Didn't one of them have over 50 Division I offers?

There are a lot of amazing pieces here to build on not just for the rest of this season, but for many seasons to come (barring a portal disaster).

Can't believe I forgot Gisella. Especially her! Most improved player in the ACC IMO.
