I have seen several times that Alekna is proud to be a Bear. He sat out last year to train for Olympics and ended up breaking the discus world record but it did not count for Cal because he was "unattached" for that season. So he has said that it was important to him to come back and break the record for Cal because the University and the Track program have given him so much. Wow. Cool. Imma fan for ever.

Terrific to see! Especially with all that is happening on the NIL front in the revenue sports, this is reassuring. No denial that the revenue sports are going back, but great to see such ties to the institution are still being formed. Thank you for sharing.
