Yes, hitters seem to continue to swing the balance of the game in their direction but there is no denying that Cal pitching has been especially poor this year. That said, the entire program is at an historically low point following the unravelling of Spencer's regime and the departure of virtually all the top talent on the roster. The cursed portal does offer a quick turnaround but it remains to be seen if Cal can swing it.

What kind of fan of Cal softball are you? Just a month ago you praised the pitchers for holding their own against two top 10 teams and soon as they don't perform as well you trash them. I think you should take a look around D1 softball on 2026 and put into perspective many pitchers' ERA's around this level have. This is one of the pitchers from OU for some context over a 9 ERA!. To say one day our pitchers did great then to turn around and say they aren't D1 worthy is diabolical

bandwagon fan!

I totally understand what you're saying and there is some truth to that, but bashing the current team isn't the route to take. Some of the pitchers on this current team have shown they are able to compete with the best in the country but being consistent is the key to a good season. We don't know all the inner workings and what each pitcher or player is going through. Being supportive is the best option.

Tamya Waiters was the pitcher that pitched well against Oklahoma & Nebraska earlier this season. She held both teams to two runs through five innings. For some reason, she has not pitched since the final Florida State game. She has missed the last eight games.

Objective criticism is not inconsistent with support. College athletes are not pre-schoolers who need "participation awards". They are seasoned competitors who have, in most cases, been growing in the sport since their pre-teen years in club, travel and interscholastic. competition. It is not incorrect to state that many are professional athletes. While some of the commentary that appears on message boards such as this is admittedly uninformed, it is all avoidable for those who find it offensive, i.e., don't read it.

Willow Glen vs Archbishop Mitty | Softball | 3/31

Alanna Clincy lost a pitcher's battle at Archbishop Mitty, 3-2. The Monarch's ace, Kyleigh Mace, only allowed five base runners over 7 innings. Clincy hit a homerun and walked for two of those. The Cal recruit yielded six hits and a walk over six IP. The game decider was a two-run HR by a Mitty sophomore, MJ Fikes. She has ten HRs this season already in only 14 games played. Clincy struck out nine batters.
