Under Biden, the U.S. had the Ministry of Truth.

Under Starmer in the U.K. they have the Center for Countering Digital Hate.

Not saying I agree with this but many other countries do this. I had a friend denied from entering Australia because he posted something making fun of the Australian government. Had to fly straight back to the US and can't return to Australia for some time frame, maybe 5 years but I can't remember exactly. UK also does this for tourists visas

This is why you don't bring your phone with you and keep everything anonymous, that way they can't use your own words against you. If you need a phone buy a burner there. Knowing now what they will do, people have to be smarter. That's why when government officials keep trying to regulate the internet with ID, I'd always be against that. Anonymity is so important in order to speak freely.

"Federal prosecutors in Washington sought and failed on Tuesday to secure an indictment against six Democratic lawmakers who posted a video in the fall that enraged President Trump by reminding active-duty members of the military and intelligence community that they were obligated to refuse illegal orders, four people familiar with the matter said.

It was remarkable that the U.S. attorney's office in Washington led by Jeanine Pirro, a longtime ally of Mr. Trump's authorized prosecutors to go into a grand jury and ask for an indictment of the six members of Congress, all of whom had served in the military or the nation's spy agencies.

But it was even more remarkable that a group of ordinary citizens sitting on the grand jury in Federal District Court in Washington forcefully rejected Mr. Trump's bid to label their expression of dissent as a criminal act warranting prosecution."

They say that any good prosecutor can get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich, but apparently there are still limits.

Death threats:

Last time I checked, someone making a death threat almost always forgets to leave their contact information.

Public figures from politics, the judiciary, and the arts have reported receiving death threats following their criticism of Donald Trump or his administration's policies.

Elected Officials
Recent reports from 2025 and early 2026 indicate a significant surge in threats against lawmakers who have publicly challenged Trump's actions:

Senator Mark Kelly (D-AZ): Reported a "spike in death threats" after clashing with Trump over a video advising military members to refuse illegal orders.

Senator Elissa Slotkin (D-MI): Her office received nearly a thousand threats in a single night and a bomb threat at her home following the same military-focused video.

Congressional "Sedition" Group: Representatives Jason Crow (D-CO),
Chris Deluzio (D-PA), Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA), and Maggie Goodlander (D-NH) all reported death and bomb threats after Trump labeled their public comments "seditious".

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA): Despite being a former ally, she reported receiving death threats against her and her family after criticizing aspects of the president's agenda in late 2025.

Adam Kinzinger (R-IL): Faced intense hostility, including a voicemail threatening his infant son, for his opposition to Trump and participation in the January 6 Committee.

Brad Raffensperger (R-GA): The Republican Secretary of State and his wife received death threats after he refused Trump's request to "find" more votes in the 2020 election.

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN): Noted that death threats against her "surged" again following Trump's 2024 election.

Judicial Figures
Judges presiding over cases involving Trump or his policies have frequently reported serious threats:

U.S. District Judge Ana Reyes: In February 2026, she read aloud death threats she received (including an email telling her to "eat a bullet") after blocking the administration's attempt to end temporary legal protections for Haitians.

Justice Arthur Engoron: Received hundreds of credible threats while presiding over the New York civil fraud case against Trump.

Judge Tanya Chutkan: The judge overseeing the federal January 6 case has been the target of racist and violent threats.

Colorado Supreme Court Justices: Members of the court received death threats after ruling that Trump was ineligible for the state's primary ballot.

Public Figures & Athletes

Amber Glenn & Gus Kenworthy: The LGBTQ+ Olympians reported receiving death threats in early 2026 after publicly criticizing the administration.

Hunter Hess: The Olympic skier received threats after being singled out by Trump in early 2026.

Kathy Griffin: The comedian faced a barrage of death threats and a Secret Service investigation after a controversial 2017 photo shoot involving a mock-up of Trump's head.

Tish James: The New York Attorney General reported needing increased law enforcement protection due to life threats received while pursuing a civil fraud case against Trump.

Jennifer Holliday: The singer received death threats and eventually canceled her planned performance at Trump's 2017 inauguration.

Lawsuits

Donald Trump has a long history of using defamation and civil lawsuits that critics and legal experts describe as SLAPPs (Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation)litigation intended to silence or intimidate critics by imposing high legal costs.

Recent Lawsuits Against Media
Outlets

BBC ($5 Billion - Dec 2025): Alleged "deceptive doctoring" of a 2021 speech in a documentary to imply he incited the January 6 Capitol riots. The case is scheduled for trial in February 2027.

The New York Times ($15 Billion - Sep 2025): Accused the paper of acting as a "mouthpiece" for Democrats and causing reputational harm through articles and books like Lucky Loser. A judge dismissed the initial 85-page complaint as "improper," but Trump's lawyers refiled a shorter version in October 2025.

Wall Street Journal ($10 Billion - July 2025): Sued over reports regarding a "bawdy" note allegedly sent to Jeffrey Epstein.

Des Moines Register (Dec 2024): Sued the paper and pollster Ann Selzer over a pre-election poll showing him trailing Kamala Harris in Iowa, alleging "election interference" and consumer fraud.

Pulitzer Prize Board: Sued for awarding prizes for reporting on Russian interference in the 2016 election. The board is fighting back by seeking Trump's tax and medical records to prove his alleged damages.

JPMorgan Chase ($5 Billion - Jan 2026): Sued for "debanking" him for political reasons following January 6.
IRS and Treasury ($10 Billion - Jan 2026): Sued for failing to prevent the leak of his tax records to the media.

I suggested Gallup poll is deterred from doing polls showing Trump's sinking popularity numbers because of death threats and lawsuits.

You asked from whom? I answered you. Now you are telling me Trump gets death threats. What relevance does that have to our discussion?

Are you trying to control the narrative and start a new discussion? I have no interest in your new topic.

If you read my post it says why I posted those threats to Trump. Didn't stop him from being president, why would it stop Gallup from running a poll? None of those threats you post show anything having to do with threats Gallup may or may not be getting.

Shocking that you don't care that Trump gets daily death threats.

Very strange argument to take when the only person who has an actual assassination attempt against them was left off his list.

You two realize that you argue with yourselves with regard to talking points I didn't raise but that you were just itching to unload on.*

If you don't like my topics, then don't quote me, pose questions regarding my comments and then when I answer the questions you pose, start a discussion on a different topic and then have kittens when I tell you I am not interested in your topic.

I rarely initiate comment on posts by either of you characters (I respond to your comments on my posts) but when I do, at least I keep on your topic and I don't go on some unrelated riff on a topic of my choice.

A couple of you guys quote my posts constantly. Try to stay on topic when you do that.

*This rhetorical tactic is commonly known as a Red Herring. It involves introducing an irrelevant topic to divert attention from the original issue, often moving the debate to a subject where the speaker feels more comfortable or where they can more easily "win" an argument.

Common variations of this tactic include:
Whataboutism: Specifically responding to an accusation or question by raising a separate, unrelated accusation against the other side to deflect from the original point.

This is basically what Pam Bondi was doing in her congressional hearing on Wednesday. She knew she was in deep sh@it trying to respond to the questions so she just started filibustering, twisting and turning down irrelevant corridors and attacking the character of the questioner. This is the Trump Way. He learned it from his lawyer Roy Cohn. It may get the job done in Congress but it doesn't work in court because if you don't answer the question the judge can fine you, hold you in contempt or strike your pleading.

Furthermore, the jury thinks you are a lying crock of sh@it. This is why the Trump Way doesn't work in court and one of the reasons Roy Cohn got disbarred.
