I support independent journalists that's don't force people to pay for their content and aren't set to a guideline of what they can write by a parent company.

I was right the first time.
You want journalists to give their work away for FREE.
Cults don't end well. They really don't.

I've been saying that this whole time.

I don't know of anyone who is able to pay their mortgage by working for FREE.

When I was a contributing reporter here at BEARINSIDER I was paid by Chris Avery 5 cents a word.

Barely made enough money for a Top Dog.

I've been subscribing to the print edition of the WSJ for decades. I strongly recommend it for those that don't understand how tariffs work.

I agree. Some folks may need to brush up on their reading comprehension skills first though.

I've noticed that no one here appears to subscribe to the WSJ, so your introductory subscription link will most likely fall on deaf ears. People here seem to find tweets from anonymous X accounts more credible.

Weird.

Shocking that people don't trust main stream media. Can't possibly guess why that might be…

What's shocking is your comment above. You've obviously never read the Wall Street Journal.

I pay $780 a year for it and I learn something new every single day.

And FWIW, it probably has one of the most conservative opinion sections on the planet.

I'll just leave it at that.

Had a subscription for years and have entirely turned myself off of main stream media. It's all biased and driven by money, hence you having to pay $780 a year for it.

Some of my best trading ideas have been inspired from reading the WSJ. But Im not surprised you're unable to grasp that and that's why you highlight the $780 price.

That makes no sense to me.
$780 is peanuts.

You're missing the point.

I don't know why you bother engaging with certain people.

So how is the WSJ biased because of a money grab?
Explain that to me.

Placing so much content behind a paywall can influence what gets published or emphasized, focusing on content that attracts paying readers rather than what might be most informative to a general audience.

So you think journalists should work for free?
That makes zero sense.

Again, it doesnt sound like you've ever read the WSJ.

man, hard to jump in here when they are digging holes for themselves. 1 company named benefits from the tariff, admit most don't , don't read the WSJ, repost randos constantly, bash the wsj that they don't subscribe to and complain about $780. Lolz is right! Go Bears!

So much for educating and teaching about the ECONOMY.

I'm convinced that there are people in life that are incapable of learning.
They have everything figured out.

I'd hate to see them put money into the financial markets.
They'd have a difficult time keeping their ego in check and admitting that they're wrong.
Being wrong with money at risk can be very humbling and PAINFUL.

If you can't ask the question, "What am I missing"?
You're not going to last very long.

I love being around people that are smarter than me.
You get to learn new things and see things from a deeper perspective.

One of my favorite economic journalists is Joseph Sternberg at the WSJ
Here's his latest from this weekend's WSJ.

Just strange for a grown man to be thinking about doing that. His legacy is whatever you want it to be but you don't respect yourself when saying stuff like this

I haven't been in Jersey since my first tour in NYC back in the early 90's.

When I interviewed with my first boss (Victor Sperandeo) I flew out to NJ and spent time with one of my best buddies from Cal, who was a bio-chem major from Cornell and lived in Essex Fells, NJ.

He was born in Basil, Switzerland the son of a chemist and a dentist.
Dude was like a brother to me during my final year at Cal.

George came out to CAL for one year because he wanted to be closer to his GF who was on the swim team at UOP. We lived at the same house on the corner of Channing and Piedmont, across from the A-Di-Pi house and next door to the Chi Omega sorority. Dude drove a beautiful blue 912 Porsche from the 70s and was an excellent skier.

His Dad had become the Chairman of Sandoz, the Swiss Pharma Company.
He had actually synthesized LSD with Hoffman, of Hoffman-LaRoche.

In any event, while I was staying with George during that Summer of 1983, his Dad was sequestered in the back of their home undergoing treatment for a very aggressive stomach cancer. He died just 3-months later.

His son George went on to become a noted orthopedic spine surgeon in Denver.
Got his medical training at Georgetown and did his residency at St. Luke's in Chicago.

In 2012, he was selected as one of the most influential and important American spine surgeons in the Beckers list of 207 Spine Surgeons and Specialists to Know.

The people you meet at CAL.
