You need to see every Guy Ritchie movie and TV series involving English gangsters. He resurrected the genre from the 1960's and 70's (see Michael Caine in The Italian Job and Get Carter)…..and now we have Peaky Blinders, Gangs of London, MobLand, This City is Ours, etc.

I'm surprised that the usual suspects that love to BASH California have refrained from weighing in with their thoughts about last night's debate.

It's probably because they don't even live in CA to begin with.

How does this post add any value here other than childish pedantic henpecking that has nothing to do with the FACTS? I bet your sycophant starred this instead of complaining, like he does when he doesn't like a poster, about how the above post adds zero to the conversation.

He raised a valid question. The debate was at an interesting time (Swalwell leaving) and with national interest.

The facts that he points out are relevant and surprising to say the least.

It was a taunt. Plain and simple. You are either too unintelligent or biased to realize or admit it.

Why would I want to watch a bunch of crappy candidates debate, none of whom I have any enthusiasm for? It's the same reason I haven't watched a presidential debate in decades.

It was definitely a taunt. Oski's assessment of why you don't see that is also accurate

This is why nobody is commenting on the debate, it's not even about policy. Dems only line is "Trump sucks"

Okay, I watched the first hour and these guys were all blah from a debate standpoint. The debate lacked a standout moment that could jolt the contest or create a frontrunner. The last two Governors would have blown this crowd away.

Every candidate said CA was on the wrong path and in crises. In response to questions about what to do about specific problems, the Dems basically said the problems were Trump and the two Republicans basically said Democratic policies, and I heard very few specific suggestions other than put all the homeless in shelters.

In terms of how I though they came off:

Steyers: remarkably he seemed to be the only progressive, and the other three Democratic candidates seemed to run right of him. I expected him to be stiff, but he looked comfortable and spoke clearly (though he sounded like he had a cold). He took shots from all the other candidates, but seemed to handle them well. He didn't say anything that would end up in a hit ad.

Porter: I was disappointed. I have seen her in a debate, and she can be better. She tried t appeal to working class families. She wants to get rid of the gas tax (which seemed somewhat shocking) and she did mention some ideas to help families, and she repeatedly mentioned she was a mom. But overall she held back trying to not make mistakes, and thus seemed more of a background player.

Becerra: Seemed like the most experienced politician, basically not answering any question, and basically talking about his roots. To the few that watched, he came off as the grown-up in the room. He also came off the best on basic mainline Democratic perspectives, and I suspect he will be facing Steyers for Dems votes. He also had the best line probably aimed at Hilton and Steyers: We need someone who knows how to govern in a crisis, not someone who's going to need training wheels the moment they walk into the governor's office...,

Mahan : I thought he came off the best as a speaker, actually noting why San Jose was bucking a number of the state's bad trends and tried to move toward the center acknowledging he would even take on his party's own establishment. All of which allowed him to criticize everyone. Not sure he really is a player at this time.

Hilton: Seemed to talk in rhetoric and said very little constructive. He has some one-liners, but he seemed more like a talk show host than a serious politician.

Blanco seemed to be the anti-Hilton candidate, being blunt in his assessments of the issues facing CA and what he would do. Maybe a pessimistic electorate, concerned about affordability and bracing for a worse economic future, might like this straight talk. A Republican really has an uphill battle in this state.

Other than maybe helping Steyer and Becarra marginally, I don't think the debate did much to ease Democratic fears that a failure to consolidate the field might produce two Republicans advancing to the November run-off.

In any event my two cents.

I watched the first 60 seconds of Biden's response to the first question in the debate against Trump in the run up to the 2024 Election, looked at my wife, said "F@uck me, this is over," and left the room.

The flu is a general term for a decline in mental ability such as memory, reasoning, language, and problem-solving severe enough to interfere with daily life. It is characterized by the progressive deterioration of cognitive function due to damaged brain cells, often impacting personality and behavior.

Key Aspects of the flu:

Symptoms: Includes memory loss, confusion, difficulty with language, poor judgment, and personality changes.

Not Normal Aging: While common in people over 65, the flu is not a normal part of aging.

Causes: It is caused by various brain diseases or injuries, such as Alzheimer's disease (the most common cause), vascular flu, or Lewy body flu.

Nature: It is a, often progressive, condition involving a widespread, chronic deterioration of mental faculties.

Wow, I had the same experience, but also said some foul things about Biden's inter-circle and the media to my wife before I retired from the room. This was not that debate. This was at the one hour mark I stopped before I slumped over the computer. Thanks for the sedative Diablo.

I was in the car, driving my daughter home from soccer practice. I had to turn off the radio... couldn't take it.

It took the rest of us 60 seconds or so to know it was tits-up.

Even left leaning media outlets like Vox, Politico and Axios now report, in hindsight, on efforts that had been made to manage and conceal the severity of Biden's age and health-related limitations. Biden's decline manifested itself very publicly, and people like you called it a hoax and even now try to cover it up relentlessly. Your legacy is handing the Presidency back to Trump.
