They are killing us in ballrooms but not for long. We're back!

"Another photograph, by Kenny Holston, captured the attention of Joe Kahn, our executive editor, who won a Pulitzer Prize for his reporting on China. I asked Joe to tell us what he saw in the image:
A day of stagecraft and ceremony. Xi receives Trump with his feet firmly planted on the red carpet, arm raised high in preparation for a handshake. Trump approaches with his arm held low and his palm open.
Both of these leaders choreograph meetings obsessively. So this is a moment. The American leader appearing deferential as China's leader welcomes him from a position of strength.
The substance of the summit is where we'll put the most emphasis. These ceremonial images matter as well."

Normal photo of a host receiving a guest. It would have been weird if it was the other way around.

CHINA TRIP RESULTS
— John Bourscheid 🇺🇸 🚀 (@bourscheid) May 15, 2026
CHINA GETS: Endless praise, trade concessions, support for purchasing US farmland, 500k student visas, AI chips, Iran oil softening.
USA GETS: A Boeing order (non-binding) half the expected size & vague promises to buy soybeans.
Art of the Deal?
how do we coexist with people who don’t want a ballroom???

I told you the chinese have been running psyops, bot farms, and everything in between. A lot of of these left-wing pro Marks’s groups are funded by them and they intentionally are targeting the right. https://t.co/qF23gLDv4B

Israel just quadrupled its PR budget to $730M, experts claim it won’t work.

Israel has quadrupled its public diplomacy budget to $730 million, but experts say ...
NO AMOUNT OF PR CAN REVERSE DAMAGE

Not to mention the billions thrown in to buy up TikTok, CBS etc.

U.S. taxpayers do NOT own the oil extracted by petroleum companies unless it’s on publicly owned land and even then we only get a small royalty. The profits of a sale go back to the oil companies - NOT the U.S. Treasury. pic.twitter.com/7wZxIznm3t

Rumors are Trump is going to agree with Xi for China to invest up to $1 trillion in US-based factories in JVs with Chinese companies.I went on Fox News to urge Trump not to allow China to set up subsidized factories for cars, glass, and steel in the US.

He attacked me twice on truth social for complaining about Chinese steel.
This would be a disaster for American workers. https://t.co/4G5yLhfqRF
I think this is a good initiative by Trump, especially if it involves technology transfers, which would be taking a page out of China's playbook, ironically. It's interesting to see that this policy is being attacked from the right and the left here. If anything it will give the US more economic leverage over China.

Unlikely. Steel and glass technologies quickly are known worldwide because companies want to sell the equipment to produce them - it's a global market. As far as cars, China has taken the lead in electric car production, but thanks to US consumers love of $70K pickups and the Moron-in-Chief's energy policies, the electric car market here is sputtering.

Trump on Taiwan: When you look at the odds, China is very, very powerful, big country. That's a very small island. Think of it, it's 59 miles away. We're 9500 miles away. That's a little bit of a difficult problem. Taiwan was developed because we had presidents that didn't know… pic.twitter.com/bKhDQ65vTS

Who can trust the ChiComs? They agreed to buy Billions in soy products during Trump 1.0, then immediately welched on the deal.
