For the record, I used to use as avatar an old airplane photo of downtown concord.
But I removed it for some reason around the time I was "permanently banned" for my posts proclaiming that if Trump was going to continue to piss people off with his outrageous offensive language he would end up the way of Mussolini, Saddam Hussein, Mo Qaddafi, etc. I think the kicker was that I included graphic photos of those leaders' demise.

I was not, and I will again say that political assassination is bad and wrong, because it leads to retaliations and escalations, among other reasons. But I was nevertheless labeled as fomenting it by trump supporters who like to twist facts.
Anyways, I removed my avatar and went to post a new one mimicking others who were already using their BI avatar as a political message, but I was blocked from making any change to it at all. Like, I couldn't even set it back to what it had been before. So I was blank for a few years.
Then you came along some years later and when I tried to set it, I was suddenly allowed.
It was a weird sequence of events. I think the severe banning might have been in 2018 and lasted until 2020 when the lead up to the election was happening. I begged back in via email as I needed an outlet to discuss politics. Then January 6 happened, and OMG! Talk about a political uprising gone wild - it was the opposite of what I had anticipated. The bass tards were ready to kill FOR Trump, not kill HIM!
And now of course the world is gone mad, as Trump first pardoned the for their obvious crimes, and then ridiculously is trying to create a slush fund to pay for illegal activities. Pfft. What could go wrong? Well, I know I wasn't wrong in my predictions. And, yes, I stand by my 2024/5 that tanks will roll. But admittedly, I've been wrong about what Americans will allow him to do. I guess it's gotta be really really really bad before presidents get taken out. Or, maybe not (Butler, PA).
I cannot remember when I removed the old avatar and tried to install a new one - maybe before the banning? But it was like someone was watching me do it and sent an immediate hand written response. No avatar editing.
I think this gave rise to the rule against political avatars.
I have actually always wanted to go back to my original image, but nobody ever commented on it, probably couldn't tell what it was.
