Defenses are dominating, 13-12. Cal has yielded two layups on inbound plays to Baker & Wenzel. Why would Bears play Grace McCallop? She shot an airball and gave up a layup to Nelson. At halftime, VT starting to take over the game. Their guards can get open for pullup jumpers whereas Cal cannot free up their guards. Hokie guards are outscoring the Bear guards, 21-9. Suffren & Daley are 7-10 from the field. Their guards are faster and no Cal guard has more than a single basket. Sheppard has been invisible on offense and is scoreless. Lulu Twidale cannot shake Suffren or Daley. Puff Morris has three turnovers and two of her three trey attempts were off-line (not close).
For Cal to win, Twidale, Maul & Sheppard need to score in the second half. Morris needs to play better as the PG Bear guards are 1 for 8 from three-point land. They have hit double-digit treys lately. Walker & Ojukwu are doing their part on the boards and scoring.

I disagree with Walker & Ojukwu sitting out for a long period in the 3rd with 3 PFs each. They had better be in in the final quarter if Cal wants to win. Bears are 1-13 from distance. Coach puts lineup of McCallop, Donez, Langarita, Morris & Maul in and Hokies pull away easily to a dozen point lead. Who is going to score other than Maul? Both Walker & Sheppard fouled out but she did not put in Ojukwu or Twidale for offense. No rebounding because Ojukwu was not put in the game. Langarita cannot board. Ojukwu is tied for Cal's high scorer with 11 points in only 15 minutes of PT. Charmin Smith decides to inject Ojukwu back into the game with 2:49 left. Are you kidding me?
Worst game management that I have witnessed. The VT HC had a superior game plan to shut down Cal's guards. Sheppard held to no baskets while Twidale & Maul each made one. Final: Hokies 68, Bears 58. MVP is soph SG Suffrin with 19 points and completely shut down Lulu (4 points) Twidale was forced into 7 turnovers and Cal's team had 22 TOs. VT's defense won the game.
