Based on tonight's results so far, best Cal can hope for is 9th in the ACC, playing number 8 for the right to play #1

Not a good way to end quarter. Not good way to start game. 17-9 Clemson on top

The turnover by Puff Morris was terrible to end the quarter. The minute she entered the game Mia Moore easily took her to the basket for a layup. Langarita needs to be out of the game because she cannot defend or score.
Each team has only four players that have scored halfway through the second quarter.

Actually Clemson has three scorers close to double digits while Cal only has two consistent offensive threats in Maul & Twidale. Sakima Walker is also playing without energy in the 1st half. Clemson is outrebounding Cal, 18-11! The Tigers are shooting 60% (15-25) against the Bears 37%. This has been a repetitive theme in the last three games. Charmin is getting outcoached on gameplan prep.

Raven Thompson is dominating inside with 10 points and 8 rebounds already. Langarita nor Walker nor Ojukwu are handling her tonight. She averages 7.8 points and 4 boards per game. Cal needs more diversified scoring if they're going to rally and win. Sheppard, Morris, Ojukwu & Langarita are scoreless.

The Tigers jump out 8-0 on the Bears to a 13-point leads to begin the 3rd period. They started the game 7-0. It is clear which squad is the better team. Clemson is on cruise control and up by 9 heading to the final quarter. Cal threw the ball away again going for the final shot of the quarter. Botching those plays is a killer.

Clemson had great team defense and had four players in double-figures. Cal is a two-person offense against a team of this caliber. The Tigers dominated at the beginning of both halves and controlled the entire game.

I'm sorry, I hate to say this. Claudia should not be on the court. She is non existent on both ends. S71 is right.

Have felt this way all season, but she's got some backers here. Little while back someone called her the Ilic of the women's team - I wish she had some Ilic production

How it is only a five point game is beyond me.
So often our players play carelessly. Only Gisella really seems to have a true sense of purpose out there. And if Claudia is not going to even look at the basket she can only hurt us being in the game.

Her assignment is to neutralize #32, the strong and stocky 5'10" player. Claudia has done that. She has not been on the court all the time that #32 has played. So sad she has lost all shooting confidence

I can understand your point. But I'm not really sure that the stocky girl is much of a threat. Based on tonight's game it seems our offense would run much better going small with Lola. And for some reason Puff looks very slow on defense. This game is winnable but only if we establish some rhythm.

Walker seems to have a limp like from a bruised hip

Seems like Bears have mismanaged some switches on defense giving Clemson (and 32) some open lanes.

I can't help but think about how different this season would have been with Abigor. Really that's the difference here. Even Barnes' injury could have been a different impact. I hope the way this ends doesn't leave a bad taste in Lulu's mouth, and impact our ability to retain her.

With neither Sheppard nor Langarita taking shots, that lineup is much easier to defend. Sigh

Cal has the talent for the tournament, but they have shown too many times that they play carelessly.

Who tells Smith when to challenge? Cal lost both tonite

Unless walker asked to come out with bears down six (before Clemson made free throws) and three to play, i dont understand the langarita substitution.
