She announced her transfer two days ago. So looks like we have 3 open spots (for now).

Just started looking in the portal and saw that Junion, Meika Lauppe from ASU is available. She is a NoCal girl. She had a pretty good year with most win percentage and and ERA of 3.59. This would be an upgrade. We need bandaids for now full Coach Steve is established.

Former Cal Bear Nailyn Marshall is looking for her third home in three seasons. I hope our do-nothing Congress passes the transfer restrictions (among other things in the NIL bill) that were discussed last week on Capitol Hill. This is ridiculous.

I want to thank them for their represenation and playing hard.

Anya German - batted .219
Sophia Rolon - .269
Natalie Marshall - .303 but AB 33X
Nina Peyton-Johnson - No Stat
Tamya Waters - ERA 7.29

Based on the above stats however, we won't win much games. It maybe a repeat of 2025-2026 season.

The latest info is that we have 8 new players coming in. However, I feel we have more. I am confident we'll get more impact players.

I am thinking this congress is the one trying to pass the NIL bill. I have a feeling it will get filabustered as per usual. I am hopeful that this administration will apply some pressure and get it done.

From what it sounded like, it was a done deal. I dont know who the 3 are. At minimum 3, I think and hope it will be more.

Damn it, I was hoping for her and Salmon. It looks like UCLA is trying to get pitchers and not have the similar season with only Tinsley.

It's interesting that three of the five players in the portal are catchers. This means we are expecting catchers. Considering that they are typically good hitters... Alyssa Herrera is currently our only remaining catcher, and we'll need at least a couple of bullpen catchers.

Was Alyssa injured last year? She didnt have much at bats.

I don't claim to know her measurables I just watched a handful of videos online. As mentioned above, beautiful violent lefty swing with good contact. Very quick out of the box and down to first. And a plus arm in the outfield. 85 mph fastball pitcher at Brown but also played outfield. Obviously, she won't be a softball pitcher, but a plus arm for sure.

Moving from baseball to softball is really tough, but here's hoping she can do it, it might be fun to watch.

6 foot LHP Jayda Koontz is coming to Cal. Kind of a crazy situation. She was the ace for UMBC as a freshman this last season, including winning the American East Pitcher of the Week. The UMBC administration abruptly cancelled the season due to a pretty public abuse scandal with the team sitting at a 10-8 record. One of the coaches made physical advancements multiple times on the student athletes.
She will have 4 years of eligibility.

Good news! The way that I figure it-it's worth rolling the dice on any new pitching that's available. It has to be superior to the staff that Cal fielded last season. GO BEARS!

I have to break my promise not to post until Trump is gone because this young lady is going to be a star at Cal. Put her in the line-up and find a place for her on the field !

Edit: If I were the Cal Baseball coach (which I really want to interview for) I would want her on the squad.
