Good to know that Barrack Obama is your measuring stick.

He's the golden goose of the left. Of course he's going to get used for comparison. Silly to think otherwise

You couldn't be more wrong.
Bill Clinton would be the Golden Goose.

Here, let me help you understand why.

Clinton balanced the budget. Four consecutive years of surplus.
The only President in my lifetime going back to the 60's to do so.

There was no budget deficit.
There was a surplus each year.

  • FY 2001: $128 billion surplus
  • FY 2000: $236 billion surplus
  • FY 1999: $126 billion surplus
  • FY 1998: $69 billion surplus

U.S. Budget Deficit by President

The post-Soviet peace dividend also had a lot to do with the Clinton era balanced budgets and surpluses.

Half of today's left doesn't even remember or wasn't even alive for Clinton. Obama is the face of the left

It was indeed the last time that BOTH parties worked together to do something for the greater good.

Again, it's funny that someone thinks that OBAMA is the measuring stick.

This is yet another dumb idea that came from Trump.
He started pushing for this last Fall.

The last thing you want to do is allow executives and advisors access to nonpublic info for longer periods.
It also increases risk to the shareholders.

Speaking of failing miserably, can you tell me why Trump's economic policies have been failing?

Job growth has collapsed.

The annual budget deficit continues to EXPLODE and the final Q4 GDP number was half of what the last estimate was.

0.7%

GDP for all of 2025 was a measly 2.1%

Looks like claims of 6% GDP in 2026 by the "Cheerleader in Chief" Howard Lutnick is a total pipe-dream.
As I recall, you were quite bullish on Trump's economy after the Q3 GDP of 4.4%

What happened?

Yes, it does.

Understood, and I've seen that happen before given a management team's inability to manage expectations.

But the longer that you sit on material information, it's human nature for that information to find a way into the hands of people with poor ethics. This would be terribly problematic for growth companies that have no earnings and are dependent on secondaries for capital. The Biotech sector comes to mind.

ENERGY NEWS "In a major move to secure stable energy supplies amid escalating geopolitical tensions, Japan has inked deals worth up to $56 billion with the United States for oil, natural gas, and liquefied natural gas (LNG) purchases and investments.

"This agreement, finalized at the Asia-Pacific Energy Security Forum in Tokyo on March 14, 2026, underscores Japan's push to diversify its energy imports and deepen economic ties with the US under Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's administration.

"The deals come as part of a broader framework stemming from the 2025 US-Japan trade agreement, where Japan pledged $550 billion in US investments over several years, with energy as a key pillar.

"The $56 billion package represents a significant escalation in Japan's commitment to American energy, building on an initial $36 billion tranche announced earlier in 2026.

"This latest round emphasizes immediate purchases and long-term infrastructure projects, responding to global market volatility driven by conflicts in the Middle East and disruptions in key shipping routes like the Strait of Hormuz.

[…] The agreements encompass a mix of direct energy purchases, joint ventures, and infrastructure investments. ..."

Al Jazeera: The US-Israeli strategy against Iran is working. Here is why

"Every aspect of Iran's ability to project regional power is being successfully degraded.

"An arsenal built over decades, dismantled in days
Iranian ballistic missile launches have fallen by more than 90 percent from 350 on February 28 to roughly 25 by March 14, according to publicly available data. Drone launches tell the same story: from more than 800 on Day 1 to about 75 on Day 15.

"The figures drawn from US and Iranian military statements differ in detail but converge on the trajectory. Hundreds of Iranian missile launchers have been rendered inoperable. According to some reports, 80 percent of Iran's capacity to strike Israel has been eliminated....

"...Iran now faces a strategic dilemma that tightens every day. If it fires its remaining missiles, it exposes launchers that are promptly destroyed. If it conserves them, it forfeits the ability to impose costs of the war. Missile and drone launch data suggest Iran is rationing its remaining capacity for politically timed salvoes rather than sustaining operational tempo.

"This is a force managing decline, not projecting strength."

Al Jazeera is a Qatari government news outlet, though they have quality reporting on a number of issues, they are definitely not neutral or unbiased in this war.

Here is a counterpoint, from an American source:

tl;dr:

And another source, on Iranian missile tech:

China will move in and replace Japan, and capture the Canadian market, which has been the #1 export market for US vehicles since the 1920s.

Quote:

Canada is the largest importer of U.S.-produced vehicles, holding the top spot with over $15 billion in imports in 2024, followed by Mexico as a major destination for U.S. car exports. These countries dominate due to deep integration within the North American automotive supply chain, with significant shipments of passenger cars and trucks.
