Lots of sh@ithole MAGA states that are little more than anchors around California's neck. Can any of them be talked into seceding?

People used to leave California for Oregon, Washington, and Nevada.

When the Democrats drifted further to the left, Californians moved to Arizona, Idaho, Texas, Florida, and Tennessee.

Why would you care if you live in Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Alaska, Mississippi, Oklahoma, or West Virginia?
More people means more spending means more sales tax revenue.

Research groups like Oxfam America indicate the following states have the highest proportion of the workforce in low wage brackets, with Mississippi ranked the highest:

1. Mississippi

2. West Virginia

3. Alabama

4. Arkansas

5. Oklahoma

The reason why some people, low wage earners, might move to what you or I might call a depressed hell-hole is that is where the most low paying jobs are to be had. Many of these jobs are hard labor jobs like construction laborers, and these jobs often go begging, because not many are willing to take the hard work for low pay jobs. But those living in another state, or another country, would welcome the chance to get such a job, for a while, at least, until they find something better.

You have written of your wealth and investment successes. But there is a portion of the populace which has to compete for low wage jobs, and when a city or state sees an influx of workers looking for jobs, any jobs, even low wage jobs, just to fend off any cold weather, or hunger, or crime, just for living on the streets or in other poverty situations, there is friction created between haves and and have-nots. There is also much resentment from citizens against the arrival of immigrants or just folks moving from one state to another, when they hear of available jobs, no matter if the jobs don't pay well.

I've seen the resentment of local workers, the low wage earners, when large groups of immigrants started flooding over the borders. The migrants sometimes work 2 or 3 times as hard as local workers, and they usually work for less pay. But when they come to a state, the local workers already there can no longer compete on a level playing field with migrants for jobs they used to easily find.

Tens of millions in just four years, via USAID, the Catholic Church, and others..

I just learned the Luberal birth rate dropped significantly the past few years, supposedly due to a pessimistic view if the world. Like, AL Gore and stuff. So shirt term, it's dependents and political power; and long term, it's dependents and political power.

But the ozone hole didn't kill us.
Nor did Y2K.
We had hunger wiped out until Covid Lockdowns.
Global Warming didn't bury Miami or Malibu.

But Europe is imploding, and yet still pushing an unwinnable war w Russia.

Are you saying that Hispanics have taken jobs in crop picking and hotel/motel house cleaning services away from Caucasians in CA?

I ask because I've never seen any Caucasian people in the San Joaquin Valley picking crops let alone in the hotel/motel cleaning service jobs here in the East Bay.

Hard to believe that these jobs were once filled by Caucasian people as you appear to claim.
And migrants have displaced them.

You again speak naively and incorrectly, and also inject race - incorrectly - where SFCityBear made no such implication.

African American women were a significant part of the hotel industry. With the introduction of legal and illegal immigrants (often employed by East Indians) into the work force, those workers were displaced. Wages paid were substantially less, with no benefits.

Similiar gutting of wages and benefits happened in many trades, and I've heard stories of bosses dropping off injured illegal workers at the ER; illegal immigrants have also told me of using multiple different fraudulent names at the ER.

Which played a large role in stagnating wages for semi skilled and skilled trades. We've seen when President Trump enforces border laws, blue collar wages rise.

I've seen plenty of East Bay professionals employ illegal Brazilian housekeepers or Mexican trades people, pay them below market wages, but then feel magnanimous bc they let said workers pick fruit from their trees, or provide them with old clothing or furniture that was headed to Goodwill or the dump.

Please feel free to substantiate your claim about Trump, the border and blue collar wages rising.

Without data substantiating your claim, your claim is baseless.

The working class did unusually well during the Biden years because of the post-Covid labor shortage. That labor shortage drove up wages at the bottom and brought in immigrants.

Everything but the immigrants has been memoryholed by corporate media because they don't like when the working class has leverage.

Social observation doesn't = hate.

Dr. Jordan Peterson says women are more hard wired to negative emotions mainly bc of their heavy responsibility in child rearing? Could also be why women initiate more divorces.

I don't doubt the "what". It's the "why". Ask AI to correlate that with cat ownership. My guess is, that correlation will also be causation!

thanks DW. per link..
