I'm too risk-adverse to short anything, but I did pick up a few long-term puts at the beginning of the year. I'll probably cash out soon; like I said, I'm risk-adverse.

Lucid and Rivian cost roughly twice as much as a Tesla. You certainly want to pay a lot for better trim and extras. Performance is similar.

True.

They stopped building the Model S and Model X.
Musk pulled the "plug" on that production on April 1st.

The Fremont factory has been repurposed to building robots.

Tesla is going the autonomous/robo-taxi route.
They won't even be building a "drivers" car anymore, with the possible exception of a roadster.

I read that Tesla produced 50,000 more vehicles than it sold last quarter, about 15%. Knowing Musk, I bet this is a ploy to absorb less depreciation and overhead per unit, improving margins. I guess when you have that much cash spending a billion (?) to pretty up the income statement makes sense.

Tesla has never been built to be a DRIVER'S car.
It's for people that want to drive a computer and be totally disengaged from actually driving.

I wouldn't be caught dead driving a Tesla either.
For starters, their interior's are clinical and crappy.

There are much more engaging EV's out there to drive.
