Avoid? I just responded to your entire post asking why I'm not doing certain things.

There's no cruising in teaching. I've been at the same school for 13 years so yeah I have things down to a science and know how to use my time well to take care of the things I need. I wouldn't have a job if things were the way you project them to be. I'm not in a union and could be fired at any moment if my school saw fit. For context, it costs over $30,000 a year at my school for students in middle school. Parents don't pay that much and put up with crappy teachers. If I wasn't doing my job, and doing it well, I wouldn't still be there. I think it's time you stop focusing on me and my job, it's bordering on invasive and obsessive.

People pick apart the jobs teachers do, looking for faults. It happens too much, IMO. Are other professions getting picked apart on this thread/forum/site? Not seeing it. I am going to take this poster at his/her word regarding being a good teacher. Maybe we disagree on politics. Fine, that's a separate issue. Please leave the teaching profession out of it, all y'all, unless you're willing to put yours and the job you do up to the same scrutiny.

Focus is never off Cheeto and his horrible admin. My posts about those issues speak to that focus.

The dude brought up the decline of children and their maturity and focus, with him being a teacher that obviously spends a lot of time here, the scrutiny is warranted.

I've been razzed and scrutinized about what I do here, so I don't think teachers are any more focus than any other profession in that regard. I've seen a lot of turnover and less than stellar teaching with kids the past 7+ years, so if that is the case I will damn well be critical and scrutinize them. I feel like teachers get a pass more often than not, especially in my town.
