The little chip the US player made in the defensive end on a lazy pass was key- it denied them walking to the net and led to the breakout.

But I think Tom is right in that Cale Makar was really slow in getting back on Jack Hughes.
It looked like he got his stick tangled up after a poke that he made at the puck before the blue line in the USA end.
And that slowed Makar down.

Kudos to Zach Werenski for finding him open with a great assist!
