What are the odds on whether Trump knows what a Thucydides Trap is?

SPOILER WARNING..

turns out, and this is true, wiki wiki knows [stuff]..
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thucydides_Trap
Quote:

The Thucydides Trap is a term popularized by American political scientist Graham Allison to describe an apparent tendency towards war when an emerging power threatens to displace an existing great power as a regional or international hegemon.[1] The term became widely used in 2015, and primarily applies to analysis of ChinaUnited States relations.[2]
Supporting the thesis, Allison led a study at Harvard University's Belfer Center for Science and International Affairswhich found that, among a sample of 16 historical instances of an emerging power rivaling a ruling power, 12 ended in war.[3] That study, however, has come under considerable criticism, and scholarly opinion on the value of the Thucydides Trap conceptparticularly as it relates to a potential military conflict between the United States and Chinaremains divided.

ChiComs leverage may be the ability to buy our debt?

Trump is fully aware of their 100-year plan to dominate the world. I hope he doesn't give away our intelligence, including access to high-end chips.

Because diplomats did so well for decades, giving away our manufacturing industries? Some scribes claim the Marshall Plan (1948) and the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT, 1947) were essentially still in place, creating our trade imbalance w Europe. Susan Kokinda of Promethean Action asserts that London is often in the background, manipulating economic arrangements to hurt the USA.

I've been railing a lot on Trump, but FYI when Xi visited the US with Biden in 2023, he had a meeting with all these people above as well.

China policy for decades under multiple administrations has been a business first policy, hence the gutting out of select parts of the country . The other governing- but idiotic principle- was that China having being exposed to the free market would throw off totalitarianism and embrace democracy. If anything, the reverse is true: we became more authoritarian

LOL, probably true. Noting, of course, that we succeeded in making China largely abandon that dreaded Communism.

Based on reports from early 2026, the second Trump administration has faced criticism regarding its economic policies, executive actions, and approach to governance. Key areas of concern highlighted by critics, legal experts, and opposing lawmakers include:

Economic and Trade Policy:
Trade and Inflation:

The administration imposed universal tariffs (up to 50% on certain countries) and specific tariffs on Canada and Mexico, which critics argue have fueled inflation, raised prices for consumers, and caused economic disruption.

Manufacturing Job Loss:
Despite promises of a manufacturing renaissance, reports indicate a loss of 80,000 manufacturing jobs since the inauguration.

Auto Industry Impact:
A 25% tariff on imported automobiles led manufacturers to pause production and lay off workers.

Governance and Executive Actions

Attacks on Federal Workforce:
The administration has been criticized for attempting to dismantle federal agencies, sending emails encouraging resignations, and reinstating "Schedule F" to make it easier to fire career civil servants.

Conflicts of Interest:
Concerns have been raised over the President's personal wealth increasing by over $1.4 billion while in office, with critics alleging self-dealing through foreign real estate projects, licensing deals, and the promotion of family-linked cryptocurrencies.

Politicization of Justice:
The Department of Justice has been accused of being used to target political opponents and protestors, including the arrest of student protestors.

Environmental and Social Policy Environmental Deregulation:
The EPA has faced criticism for weakening air and water quality regulations, reversing emission standards, and halting climate-related policies.

Healthcare Rollbacks:
The administration has rolled back healthcare regulations, including those on drug pricing, and attempted to reduce funding for initiatives related to diversity and gender identity.

Immigration Actions:

Policies such as family separations and mass deportation efforts have been criticized for violating international law and creating a climate of fear.

Transparency and Democratic Norms Attacks on Media and Law:
The administration has been criticized for threatening legal action against media outlets (such as the BBC), reducing press access to the White House, and publicly targeting specific law firms.

Rule of Law Challenges:
Critics cite the pardoning of January 6th defendants, defiance of certain court orders, and the targeting of judges as a disregard for the rule of law.

Removal of Datasets:
The administration has been accused of removing public datasets that track social, economic, and health disparities.

You must have read enough to know that summary is truthful.

Feel free to point out where it hallucinated.

Trump is a huckster, he knows it as does everyone that ever did business with him. When you have anything to do with Trump the question is not whether he will f@uck you over but when he will f@uck you over.

"We got no offering of help with Iran. Just a few statements. Those are just words not actions.

Then they threatened us about Taiwan and called us a declining superpower.

The most interesting part about all of this is Trump just sat there and took it.

America isn't what it used to be.

This meeting was a failure imo."
