It's more that it's been feast or famine: some big scoring games but also plenty of 3-runs-or-less games.

A lot more famine than feast. They really suck this year, and are likely to end of in last place in the National League West. Only the Rockies stand in the way.

When you have clown shows like Hawley writing to the MLB commissioner about this, I don't think the Chron is at all at fault here

Forget affordability, forget climate change, forget income inequality (especially with AI on the way)... and please forget anything that might be happening in Gaza or the "Hormuz Strait".

PrideNightGate is assuming its rightful place as the nation's most important problem!

(well, right up there with ReflectingPoolGate... )

I frantically hunted down this morning's print edition of the SF Chronicle to see the latest: up to four articles today!!!

In the "Sporting Green":

+ "Posey misses moment in avoiding Pride fallout"
+ "Posey dodges questions about Pride Night"
+ "Vitello backs Devers, discusses Pride issue"

But what about in the "news" section?!? Nothing on the front page (Who's editing this rag?), so I start turning pages... and turning pages... finally, on page eight:

+ "Giant fans gather to protest Pride Night controversy"

Yes!!! At this rate, the Chron should be running dozens of daily articles and columns about this by the 4th of July!


Full Disclosure: I got nothing against the LGBTQ community or having a Pride Night, but the crux of this story is what happens when a sport that has a significant minority of rednecks has a franchise that dictates a Pride Night? Well, if it isn't carefully managed, this is what you get. And the 2026 SF Giants aren't doing any careful managing, for sure. Case closed.

If it was Filipino night and they wrote anti Filipino stuff in their caps it would be an equal outrage. The uniforms don't belong to them, they belong to the marketing department. They don't have personal freedom to change it.

That's not a bad thing, IMO, but here's the deal: You're sort of right, which is why I don't have a lot of sympathy for the players who signed with the Giants. They and their respective entourages have, no doubt, talked about "the land of fruits and nuts" and all that. But they signed and they're cashing their massive paychecks.

Nor do I have sympathy for the Giants, who, wanting to have their cake and eat it, too, have mismanaged the situation.

Nor do I have sympathy for people in the LBGTQ community who have "suddenly" learned that MLB has its share of rednecks. Shocker!

But I reserve most of my ire for the media making this a bigger deal than it is.

Also for people who keep it alive with their posts on Bear Insider.

Not sure how many people were watching the game yeserday afternoon against the Sacramento A's, but the bullpen blew up again and relievers give up seven runs in the loss to the A's with Caleb Killian, unable to preserve a lead in the 9th giving up four runs!

Nothing worse than going through a baseball season with a bad bullpen. You know every lead is a loss waiting to happen.

But not all Christians are rednecks in the same way not all LBGTQ+ people are flaming Democrats.
