If Madsen leaves for ASU, why now instead of the BYU or Stanford jobs? Or did they not even offer?

Personally, I'm fine either way. Though I'd feel better about it if Lyons had not promoted Jay and Jenny. Maybe he can bring in Jaylen as an advisor if he needs to do a search?

this season's abysmal attendance & lack of nil and practice facility fundraising have fundamentally shifted madsen's perception of cal plus next season will once again be a total rebuild

jaylen brown is not gonna be an advisor if the bears go thru a hoops search, jb got zero connection to the program right now...if it's necessary to hire a new coach before the critical april transfer portal window (with madsen taking talent with him to asu) then a one week max search process (with zero involvement by jay & jenny) led by dr marissa nichols (with ron rivera or coach lupoi, justin labagh & randy scott serving in an advisory capacity with chancellor lyons making the final decision) should interview in person idaho's alex pribble, portland's shantay legans & santa barbara's joe pasternack

but nobody is gonna donate any real money to a ****show "managed" by jay & jenny, that's just burning benjamins on telegraph avenue

the good news from the shockster's perspective is that the bears are only 24 point dogs in the soon to be SOLD OUT september 5th uc championship game at memorial stadium according to monsterloseurazz.com and that max homa, michael kim & collin morikawa are all competing in the 2026 masters this april at augusta national!!

Further, Cal's overall NIL profile is larger than Arizona State's, and there is tremendous progress being made on specific MBB NIL funds. Additionally, a Ron Rivera level GM, candidate is interested in working with Mark at Cal.

A group of us that includes the Chancellor are working hard to retain Mark Madsen and deeply believe the opportunity and upside for him at Cal are boundless.

I didn't say he could defend, rebound, or pass. I said he could do all those things well. It is not a matter of attitude, but desire. I said he needed to change the mindset of trying to be a primary player when he could potentially be a very good to elite all around player. He scored 21 points with 12 rebounds against Oregon. He is shooting 49% from 2 point range. He averages 4.6 rbs. If he had to the desire to do more he could. He also only plays 26 min a game on a very good team. He average almost 18 the year before.

a client of mine is a nba organization, the internal scouting reports do not evaluate strojakovic as a legit nba talent, he's not +1 athletic enough to defend in the league & the ball sticks in his hand as he pursues buckets (doesn't make his teammates around him better)

but andrej with the right coach that can get thru to him to share the ball could become a very good college player in his final year of collegiate eligibility before he pursues a professional career overseas

greg, we can probably both agree that the chancellor moving on from jay & jenny would be a huge VICTORY and significant step forward for the athletic department (which would pave the way for FREE gameday tixs for all berkeley students) and while a band aid practice facility is not comparable to asu's state of the art 51,000 square foot hoops developmental 2 courts it's better than sharing time with the volleyball team etc at haas & intramural leagues at the rsf...theo robertson would be the monster's #1 choice as the hoops general manager

but u might wanna check ur compensation numbers, asu total payroll this season (nil & revenue sharing) wuz just south of $4,000,000 and it's expected that if glasser (who wuz teammates with harden at asu & high school) is hired as head coach (or associate head coach under madsen) then that figure will "significantly" increase

One of us knows exactly what Cal has spent on NIL in Football and Basketball, the other . . . . ?

I will not disclose the Bears' budget for obvious reasons; however, check the portal rankings in Basketball the past three years - Cal >> Arizona State, the last three portal classes. And BTW, that's true for Football as well.

False news on the Bears NIL vs Arizona State

And to be clear, that doesn't mean we don't need to raise more, which we're doing right now. Hopefully you and others will write a check.
