2026 buc-ee & jaderian are tired of living in lousy azz weather dallas texas (and wanna ride bicycles in yountville) tournament: 4th round update


michael kim (68, tied for 17th): played like a boss man starting with an eagle 3 on the par 5 1st hole & almost holing out for an ace on the par 3 13th hole, only mental miscue wuz misjudging the left to right wind (not in his face) on the par 3 16th hole leading to hitting it over the backboard & three jack national...real talk (directed at the undersized cal men's golf team): gaining 10 lbs of muscle in the last 18 months michael now gotta enuf ball/club speed to hit the relatively flat fairway 628 yards par 5 11th hole green in 2 shots with a 298 yard 3 wood leading to a tap in birdie...rooooarrrr!!


max homa (67, tied for 22nd): the facts are as follows:

1) homa wisely ditched the ugly as **** leisure/seizure world pleated pants look favored by tommy lasorda
2) swing looks fabulous with unreal powerful DISTANCE (ball speed of 190 mph, pga tour average is 175) off the tee box but gotta spend some time in the practice bunker/sandtraps at silverleaf this week
3) max's speed on long distance putting is outstanding routinely rolling 50 feet putts within a foot!!
4) new caddie/close friend peter pappageorge: likes to stuff his face with food (r protein candy bars a food group??), ignores (which is a good thing) our drama queen's occasional emotional outbursts, gives a butt slap to our cali bear when he needs a pep talk & most importantly 100% stares down the cbfy1 scorekeeper (wearing the blue shirt with the en feugo mythical brunette triggering ponytail thru the back of the white golf cap) for all 4+ hours instead of watching golf & ****!!

McCann and GMac also make the WR room of the best coached rooms in the country, and the strongest room on the team. One should expect a massive upgrade in WR production, which basically was JDJ and a bunch of guys who dropped balls last year.

100% alex, ur friend geoff mcarthur is no doubt working his azz off alongside pat mccann to ensure this is the most improved unit in the program, as u point out the wideouts other than jacob dropped a ****ton of catchable balls from jks but also failed to BLOCK (whose gonna be the next nyan "**** u up" boateng in the run game??)

too bad the head coach didn't play the program's most productive scorer more at her natural 4 or 3 as a nightmare mismatch than outta position as a undersized 5 that struggles to defend significantly taller acc centers, last season it cost the program several more wins *uncorrected turnovers, poor playing rotations & playing tiny guards that can't defend are all hallmarks of the coach charmin above average but not great era

to her credit smith has built a loyal family culture within the program with all the key players returning & targeting the completion of berkeley degrees (which is kinda the whole point of college basketball, turning over the entire roster every 9 months no es bueno)

savvy fan building 2026/2027 wbb scheduling would include a game or two on the friday, saturday or sunday around the cal football saturday home games on november 21st (stanford) & 28th (pittsburgh) so the outta towners parachuting in for JKS could also watch some early season women's hoops in person at haas

the marketing challenge for cal women's hoops is that the vast majority of students & alums have NEVER been to a women's hoops game, it's gonna take directing messaging to NEW fans to grow the current near non existent gameday crowds...the current strategy of targeting the current small base of mostly sr citizens is NOT gonna increase gameday attendance metrics

women's basketball both collegiately & professionally is arguably the fastest growing sport in country but NOT in berkeley

shocky had never been a women's hoops game at any level (including stinson beach high school back in the day) in his life until effusive lindsay gottlieb came to a men's hoops game during the jaylen brown/ivan rabb era & sat by me on my floor seats for 15 minutes before a game introducing herself & personally inviting me to attend a wbb game...and yeah schulzy went to the next game (and also got involved in the recruitment of generational talent sabrina ionesco from caldecott tunnel high school which included meeting her & her parents on their official visit) & loved it!!

yeah at that point in time the monster honestly thought both the men's & women's hoops program wuz both on the rapid ascension/upward trajectory to win NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS!!...ha ha, **** me (the monster got walked to his car baby)

there's even a possibility that if the current co athletic director ****tards are fired/replaced with a berkeley grad like andrew mcgraw that demands accountability (both financial & winning records) from coaches & the athletic department staff that there might be a cal's monster cbyf1 hoopsters thread to help drive attendance/recruiting someday

dwm, you could add the cal softball, volleyball, women's golf & both track & field/cross country programs to this underperforming list along with precipitously declining attendance for both hoops programs which is directly a function of the FAILED leadership of general knowlton & now his anti football/basketball agenda current co athletic directors jay & jenny who are tryna to rebrand themselves which is not fooling anybody

your correct supporting 30+ sports teams is virtually impossible, even with sec funding high gpa vanderbilt only got 17 programs (6 men's & 11 women's programs)

keep in mind chancellor lyons is currently paying general knowlton's annual $1,200,000 "retirement" (per the severance documents secured by the monster via public information requests) in addition to paying $500,000 each to both jay & jenny

nobody should evah be tole how to spend their money, if people want to donate to the cal athletic department (other than a couple of key exceptions such as the football program which has severed itself from the ****tards) or burn their money in the streets or buy a watch or an aquarium that's 100% their choice

the "big give" should be more accurately renamed "the big grift" to financially support losing coaches & lazy azz bureaucrats

we all got choices in life on how to spend our time & money

collin morikawa: hollywood, jack is telling everyone that the past muirfield village champion's back is fine but that kat & collin are on baby watch, best wishes to the morikawas!!...our golden bear is scheduled to tee it up next week at the canadian open as his final prep for the 2026 us open at shinny (next door in the hamptons to shocky's favorite golf course on planet earth, the national golf links of america)

max homa: the game's greatest jewish (corey pavin don't count) golfer is gonna compete next monday at final qualifying for the us open in york ontario in close proximity to the canadian open, the key to the week will just be saying no to tim horton's cardboard tasting donuts & ****

ziqin zhou: z played a practice round wednesday with the miyamoto's (craig & matthew) in building local course knowledge for monday's 36 holes final qualifying at del paso in sacramento...let's ******* go, ziqin, let's make ur awesome tiger moms proud (we're both mama's boyz)!!
