Dort is not good at creating shots for Camden-Bell, and Rytis is more for defense, which is not how we're going to beat a Miami. If those two were playing today we'd be down by 10+, many fewer attempts for our outside guys and bank on at least three fumbles by Dort inside.
Let's play with the team we have.

If you don't think missing Dort significantly hurts us, I don't know what to tell you.

He's our only ACC-level big. It's nearly impossible to beat a tourney-level team without at least one big that has to be respected in the paint.

Yes, his absence hurts us in some ways, but everything with him is a tradeoff, I'm saying his presence would not change the final score of this game in a positive direction. His 8 points and a single block every game comes at the expense of other players in the lineup, I don't know how you're arguing otherwise. .

It's about more than points. We're watching a guy (Ilic) who is as slow as molasses, brings No prescence inside, and we have to hear that Dort wouldn't be a step up? To even bring up Dort in a negative way in a game like this is crazy. We sure could have used him today. I don't know how anyone could argue otherwise.

Only 5 down.

Let's go.

Miami's keeping us in this, we've got to keep the tough D turned on, and now we're in the double-bonus, too. Go Bears!

I don't think Pippen has an assist in the 2nd half (after 6 in the 1st).

Fixed with a drive and pass for a dunk!

100% this is just the normal Cal denigration of our best big man. It goes back decades. And it isn't the drop off from Dort to Ilic so much as the huge drop off from Ilic to Koncaras in the back up minutes.

It is not debatable that Bears are a better team with Dort. He averages 8 points and 8 boards and more times than not prevents us from totally getting abused in the paint like today.

Montas shoves and slaps so much. Why? Literally doing nothing at all would be more helpful. I just don't get it.

These officials are a joke tho. Fouls on everyone. Smh.

THIS!!! Basketball is match up dependent and we would match up SO MUCH BETTER with Lee in this game. Not sure about the wisdom of having him travel unless it really was close to him being able to go .

The foul differential is nowhere near what these corrupt ACC b@stards are capable of.

Yes, against Miami especially, we are missing Dort's physical presence inside.
