Nice to get the win, but we have to close out games a lot better than this going forward.
Inbounds plays: At the end of the game our plays were one-dimensional - everyone near the baseline, pass to the corner where there's a double team, turn the ball over. Like three times. Madsen used to have players running up the court to create some space.
Without Dort we got abused by Stanford's mediocre bigs. Dort can't be ready soon enough for me.
The crowd was huge, nearly filling the place. But not that loud in the first half and almost catatonic in the second. The game did turn pretty dull in the second half but still ...
Good thing Ames, Bell, and Camden brought their best today. We needed every bit of it.

The guy is doing his best. The game Dort went out we had no bigs stepping up, it looked like everyone was lost out there.
Ilic is doing his best, sure the furdies scored pretty easily on him, but we were trading 2s for 3s. He also is pretty good at the high post with his passing and sets decent enough screen. Had a baby hook that helped us hold off the Furd.
Sure we need to get deeper and Ilic being our 2nd best big probably mean our bigs are not great, but let's celebrate their improvement over the season!

^ 100%. We're lucky to have Ilic this season, especially with Dort's injury. I think people appreciate him, but we "say" things sometimes, in the middle of a game thread.
I thought illic did fine. The game plan was not to double the post and stay with shooter. Dort moght have done a bit better but milos is a better passer. We do need to work on attqcking the 2-3 cause we play far better at tempo.

The biggest issue isn't Ilic, it's that we have no remotely capable bigs behind him. Getting Dort back ASAP would be massive. Ilic as our second big is actually pretty solid. Kocanas as our second big is horrific.

A couple of his passes were unbelievable. 6 points, 7 boards, 3 assists, 1 blk, 1 stl. Only 1 TO.

He wasn't supposed to get this many minutes and you can tell, but given that he's the backup he's been serviceable.

The Stanford center Caaman averages 6.1 points per game. He got 19 against us. He is not good and he got 19 against us. The middle is a huge problem Illic cant stop anyone . I cant see how we beat Smu but I will be there. First game of a road trip maybe they are off. Maybe Dort plays but it wont be easy. They do play terrible defense so maybe we can out score them.
