Heh lol I didn't know they had a basketball team until this year lol. I only knew of the school vaguely just because I had one friend go there.

St Mary's is losing big time to Texas A&M

NC is winning big against VCU (the A10 champions in the same league as St Joe's, our opponent on Sunday in the NIT

VCU came back, tied it up in the final minute, they were down 19 in the 2nd half and got a chance to win it in the last possession, inbounding with 2.9s. Game just went to OT.

And VCU wins. ACC looking like crap so far.

A bargain, for parents who don't want to be stuck with their kid's dirty laundry every weekend.

A quick post - High Point is a really interesting story. Very little institutional aid. A huge focus on the kids of the 1% that want a lux experience. Their current president lead this transformation as a response to the challenges smallish liberal arts colleges find themselves in. It SEEMS to be filling a market niche. Not sure about how much in loans kids are taking out cause Cash flowing 85K+ is not for the faint of heart.

VCU and Saint Louis kicking ACC and SEC butt tonight, St Louis leading UGA 91-54 late in the game.

St Joe's finished 3rd behind them in the A10...

Wilkinson got 30 points in that Georgia game. Is he going back in the portal?

I would expect so. Maybe he'll talk to OTT and realize he left the unicorn.

I refuse to believe Siena has more talent in their lineup than us. They came close to upsetting Duke

Siena played a great game. Their coach, Gerry McNamara, will probably be coaching his alma mater Syracuse next season.

Watching this game - refs are handing it to Kentucky

Siena definitely looked better than a 16 seed.

Santa Clara falls to Kentucky in OT. Shame, SC had the lead late in regulation but UK banked in a three at the buzzer to save it for them. Could easily have gone the other way.

And what made it worse is Mark Fox celebrating on Kentucky's sidelines.

Agreed. The refs certainly pushed the game for Kentucky. The bank shot to send it to OT was miraculous, I will give that to Kentucky.

Virginia down 5 to Wright State at halftime. Was the ACC good?

Yeah the ACC definitely feels like (at best) the fourth best conference in the country, well behind the SEC, B1G, Big 12. And perhaps below some other conferences too.

As for WCC teams losing, well...

Seriously - ACC is really suspect. Puts Cal's relative success this year in perspective

It was worse last year, so Cal's improvement was still real. But did we deserve to be in the tournament? No, probably not.

Could argue SMU and NC State didn't deserve an invite either. Not arguing that Cal didn't improve, but taking into account he weak SOS and how poor the ACC has turned out to be, the improvement is less impressive than originally thought.

FSU was the better team in March, between these two teams and us. NC St and SMU faded late in the season.

Verdict on the ACC is still out, UNC was a bit overrated, certainly feels like it from our game against them vs the other top ACC teams.

Virginia pulling away, they will win.

NC State, SMU, and UNC gone in the first round and Duke and Virginia barely pulling it off against the 16th and 14th seeds? Kinda thinking the verdict is already in.

To be fair yall it's just one game that's the beauty of March. The ACC was a good conference this year you can see the talent. I mean I believed in Wright State(mostly because we played them lol) but Jacari White showed the talent disparity at the end.

In case you missed it, wild final 20s of regulation in the Kentucky game -

HoopDreams
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I think you guys got it wrong

UNC was without their best player (who played in the game where we beat them)

Wright State gave Virginia a scare, but we beat Wright State by 10

VCU, Santa Clara, Miami (Ohio), Alabama, Texas were all bubble teams and just squeaked in.

We were right there and could advanced in the NCAA just like any of these teams.

Also shows that there are teams who didn't get selected that could have made some noise in the tournament

Santa Clara had a good year and nearly pulled it off today versus Kentucky but Saint Mary's getting rolled in March every year is more annoying than amusing at this point

Santa Clara lowkey got screwed at the end of that game since they didn't get their timeout granted and the clock operator was a little slow starting the clock, still what a crazy sequence. But seems like the coach just couldn't get the attention of the refs.

Miami (OH) getting spanked by Tennessee, I guess I was wrong on this one.

The high point of the first round, pun intended:

Complementary student laundry and airport shuttle service FTW.
