Well that often happens as a player gets more experience and direct training/conditioning at the college level. Look at the difference in Lulu's conditioning now compared to her first year. . Also Puff's knee injury probably slowed that process down a tad don't you think? I've been pleased with her play as she's come back from her injury.

The players major in basketball, their career path (as they see it) is pro basketball overseas and then work in the sports industry.

A Cal degree doesn't move the needle in the sports business.

As for Puff. there's a reason she wound up at Cal and not Texas -- a lot of questions about her size and quickness would play at this level. So far, I don't think we have a definitive answer. She knows how this year went, and has some decisions to make about how to move forward.

You've probably seen them both play. What are similarities/differences between Puff and Kaleena Smith?

Miami's #5 is a lot like Puff... 5'6" , ball handler and playmaker... But she can get her shot off driving against taller players by driving back into them right at the rim... Puff needs this shot...

McIntosh was 5'5. Frankly, Puff seems not as tall. While Puff does not seem as quick as McIntosh, she's pretty quick and somehow is able to get up her outside shot. That said, it took McIntosh a couple of years to adjust to the Division I level

Yeah, they list Hannah Hidalgo of ND as 5'6", but she looks a bit taller than Adams for Miami... and she is a great shooter...

I watched the game last night and noticed that defense played really well. The offense started out in the 1st period terribly, but the "d" kept Cal in the game.

I noticed that nobody mentioned soph Naya Ojukwu as a necessary returning player for next season. You all seem to forget that early in the season, Maul & Ojukwu were the dynamic duo that came off the bench in many games to provide energy and offense to ignite the team. Gisella Maul entered the starting lineup when both freshmen were out injured.

In the Syracuse game in New York, Ojukwu was the high scorer with 25 points. I hope that she does not enter the transfer portal due to lack of PT.

I feel that Lulu Twidale, Gisella Maul, Taylor Barnes, Miracle Sheppard, Puff Morris & Naya Ojukwu are the necessary returnees. These six players are all potential double-digit scorers on a given night. If one adds the two Aussie freshmen and hopefully three transfers (1-2 post players) from the portal, the Bears should have an opportunity to do some significant damage next season. GO BEARS!

Kaleena Smith is a level or two above Puff.

She's taller, quicker and a better shooter. And though Puff was really good at Etiwanda, she had a better team around her than Smith does, and Stan Delus is a superb coach.

If you have the NFHS network, you can watch Smith -- and a whole lot of other elite players -- in postseason. It's like $10 a month or something.
