How long do you want to ignore this user?
I certainly hope he is, too.
I enjoyed him.

I would like to be able to use admin tools to search and list the handles of well known users who suddenly went cold turkey.
Hopefully not died but I'm sure a good number yes.

Only meaning of "going cold turkey" I'm aware of is stopping a habit abruptly. Hopefully, unit2sucks is having a great life.

I hope he went to Ukraine to fight with the Nazis in the cause he believed so deeply

I can't believe Little Orphan Annie is dead. What a hard knock life.

I prefer the original Steve Goodman version, but here is the perfect country song.

I'm sorry to hear about Little Orphan Annie. I hear Daddy Warbucks is doing well and owns Amazon and the Washington Post these days.

Daddy Warbucks, Albert Finney, knew how to toss back a cocktail. The old sot made it age 82.

My Craig Morton story:

It was probably in the early 2000's. I'm at work. The receptionist (remember those?) buzzes my office and says that Craig Morton was on the line for me. I knew it had to be my buddy, Tim, that always gave the name of a celebrity (often a famous Cal athlete) when he would call my office.

Knowing that it was Tim, I picked up the line and:

Me: "Hey Craig, how is your wing these days, are you still slinging those 50 yarders?"

Voice at other end: "Well, to tell you the truth, it ain't good and I probably can't throw one 10 yards."

Me (realizing it wasn't Tim): "HOLY SH@it! Is this The Craig Morton?"

Craig: "Well, you are really showing your age to even know who the H@ell I am."

I then apologized and explained why I thought he was going to be my friend Tim when I picked up and told him how honored I was to talk to him.

Craig explained that he was working for the Athletic Dept. getting season ticket holders to renew. We had a nice conversation for about 10 minutes. He was a great guy. I renewed.

Maybe there was a toxic dump under the frat/sorority sets.

Of the 220 cast and crew members of the 1956 film The Conqueror, 91 developed cancer and 46 died from it by 1980. Many believe this high rate was caused by radioactive fallout from nuclear tests in Nevada, as filming took place near St. George, Utah, where downwind fallout occurred.

*Some argue it was a punishment from God for participating in the making of arguably the Worst Movie All Time.

  • Legal Outcome: Longet was charged with reckless manslaughter but was convicted of the lesser charge of negligent homicide in January 1977, resulting in a sentence of 30 days in jail, two years of probation, and a fine.
  • Recent Update: Claudine Longet passed away on May 14, 2026, at the age of 84.

Formerly known as Mrs. Andy Williams.

* Prosecutors and investigators believed Claudine Longet had a motive to kill her boyfriend, Olympic skier Spider Sabich, on March 21, 1976, suggesting a "crime of passion" fueled by a volatile, ending relationship and intense jealousy, rather than the accidental shooting she claimed. While she claimed the gun discharged by accident, evidence pointed to a tumultuous, failing romance.

Kato Kaelin, a friend of Brown who also testified in the murder trial, wrote in a post on X that he wanted to respectfully acknowledge Fuhrman's death and that he hopes Fuhrman's loved ones can find peace.

"While we were never close personally, our lives were indelibly linked through our roles in the O.J. Simpson trial over thirty years ago. It was a deeply complex and painful chapter for everyone involved, but any loss of life is a time for reflection and solemnity," Kaelin wrote.

Heart attack?
What else suddenly makes you unresponsive?

The Busch Family, Richard Childress Racing and NASCAR issued a joint statement Thursday saying Busch died after being hospitalized. No cause of death was given.

Busch's family said earlier Thursday that he was hospitalized with a "severe illness," three days before he was to compete in the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Busch was testing in the Chevrolet racing simulator in Concord on Wednesday when he became unresponsive and was transported to a hospital in Charlotte, several people familiar with the situation told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because details have not been disclosed by Busch's team or family.

Busch was the younger brother of Kurt Busch, a NASCAR Hall of Famer.

AI summary of theories floating' round:

Theories and Known Contributing Factors

Severe Sinus Infection and Exhaustion: Just 11 days prior to his passing during a race at Watkins Glen, Busch was heard on his team radio asking for a medical doctor and requesting a "shot". Reports indicated he had been battling a severe sinus cold that was exacerbated by the intense G-forces and elevation changes at the race track. While common, severe sinus infections can occasionally lead to broader complications if left unchecked.

Aggressive Respiratory Illness: Many community members and sports commentators have speculated that the initial sinus infection quickly developed into a more serious or systemic issue, such as pneumonia, meningitis, or sepsis. Such complications would align with the family's description of his condition as a "severe illness" that required immediate and urgent hospitalization.
