In between cocktails and removing minority group memorials and plaques, I sure hope Hegseth is directing our military to study drone warfare.
One of the most disappointing things about this war, to me (outside of the one million or so dead or maimed humans) is the Pentagon's lethargic adaptation to the latest warfare, i.e. drones. We had, what, three years of being able to see this play out before we attacked Iran, yet we're still shooting down cheap drones with expensive missiles?
We need to be able to pivot much faster, but I guess it's not surprising, considering the way our military is structured. Hegseth should be reforming this rather than spending his time trying to create a military filled with white, Christian men who can do a lot of pushups.

Thinking about a road trip in Crimea. Any thoughts recommendations on where I should go?

You'd be safer there than in Chicago.

This is the moment a disabled Russian veteran pulls a knife on an army recruiter as the Kremlin prepares for a forced mass mobilisation to replenish its depleted forces in Ukraine.

Based on the volume of posting from our most knowledgeable posters on the Ukraine War, I have to assume the Battle of Bakhmut was far more important than what is happening in Crimea right now.

A boy and a girl, presumably siblings, attempted to pull one of the recruiters away from a man who was screaming for help

The situation in Ukraine hasn't changed that much, the imminent downfall of Crimea is the kind of BS that poorly informed people will buy at face value. The middle east has more of less mobilized geopolitical attention, and the WC at home as well has ben a focus.

The pro-Russia government of Crimea has declared a state of emergency. What is going on there? Cal88 brought up the imminent collapse of Crimea. Maybe he knows something the rest of us don't know.
Hodges: Crimea dominates the Black Sea, it's why Catherine the Great took it in the 18th century. If Russia holds it, they block access to the Azov Sea and disrupt everything out of Odessa.
