It's crazy that OK with a median home price of $256K has a homeless problem...
If I were homeless in Oklahoma, I would come out to California where the weather is nicer and you are less likely to be rousted by the cops, But folks in that state have never been known for their smarts. It will take another Dust Bowl.
Because they're not "homeless", they're drug addicts, who chose to beg, steal, or turn tricks for money, to get high, sleep, wander, repeat.
As the number of homeless people has been steadily rising, it indicates that other economic and social factors are at play.
They're not homeless, they're primarily drug addicts. A much smaller percentage are mentally ill; the kicker being, the longer these drug addicts live on the street, panhandle, steal, loot, get high, they themselves become victims of crime, rape, and many escalate to harder drugs, which have more physical and mental consequences.
According to an LA Country Sheriff, the increased prevalence of the cartels increased the supply, lowered the cost, and increased the hard drugs readily available.
Chinese, Mexican, and Hmong cartels in far Northern California openly grow, process, and distribute over $7 Billion a year in drugs and overwhelm local law enforcement. When locals started pulling over water trucks w expired tags, the cartels hired high-priced San Franvisco law firms to play the Race Card. Whete is our FBI???!!!
The Joe Biden Administration also attracted and flew in between 10 to 20 million new unvetted, unverified illegal immigrants. The Biden Administration was aided by NGOs and charitable / religious organizations.
