r u gonna be at the center of the universe for the uc championship game on saturday september 5, 2026 (or r u an expired cal tv "fan")??

bluehen, not an expert on this litigated contract breach issue with the rose bowl but in the opinion of cal's monster class the 2025 3-9 ucla football program should play their home games other than the 2027 & 2029 uc championship games on the back range of the nearby bel air country club which is sometimes closed late in the day for the bruins marching band to practice their formations & ****

https://instagr.am/p/CLYYD9wnOOv
plus bel air cc gotta an old school barbershop inside the clubhouse, would be awesome to get some trim on gamedays, rite??

is there anything more ******* annoying than going to coachella (with backstage access) & 2 of ur favorite artists are performing at the same time on different stages??

so shocky is heading to coachella next week for the pga tournament which will be played the first 3 days over 3 different courses with the final round at the stadium course

since max homa & michael kim are both entered in the tournament shocky has written the tournament director & the pga tour staff director of playing competition requesting that max & michael are paired together to facilitate my on the course coaching/development responsibilities for both players, this makes sense, rite??

tee times will be released on tuesday

if this is successful then shocky will also lobby with espn & the acc commish to schedule the battle for the uc championship with ucla on saturday september 5, 2026 for a 2:45 pm kick off at memorial stadium to allow me ample time for a leisurely breakfast at the crepevine followed by a brisk walking 18 holes at either poppy ridge (need to check out the renovation work) or san francisco golf club, got it??

and why does modern yoga got such a rigid class schedule, why can't they just start the vinvyassa flow classes 30 minutes after my morning doggy dog hikes up the mountain??
https://www.modern.yoga/schedule

the monster needs to get the message (stfu shocky)!!#

multiple scheduling updates:

the american express tournament director pat mccabe has gotten back to me & is advising that the best he can do for me in consultation with the pga tour staff is to put michael kim at 10:36 am & max homa at 11:31 am both on the pga stadium course this thursday thereby saving me the hassle of having to go between courses as part of my coaching duties

think the plan will be for shocky to be on the practice range at 9:30 am to work with my bears in a little warm up sesh before we take it to the course (hopefully peter malnati won't monopolize my time again as he's not even a golden bear), maybe walk with michael for the 1st hour at 10:36 am & then walk with max starting at 11:36 am for the 2nd hour and then adaptively figure out the rest of my coaching duties for the day on the fly maybe ending up at the nest (not sure if there's any erewhons in the palm desert) for dinner or something

so go ahead & let shocky know ur preferences for kick off times for the bears 7 home games this fall at memorial stadium & the monster will work with espn & the acc commish to get this worked out to accommodate ur gameday activities, got it??

lastly, shocky is signed up for his 1st barre (got no idea wut the **** this entails) class tomorrow at 3:15 am before master teacher anton's 4:15 flow class at modern yoga...in communicating with the barre teacher kait she tole me this is a clothing optional class so it can't be too ******* bad, rite??

UCLA Sept 5th, I'd like a 1pm kick-off please. BTW, last time wife and I stayed at the Fairmont but to be honest the Singapore Suite was a bit of a letdown. Is the Mark Hopkins any better? I like being close to The Tonga Room, but maybe being closer to Union Square and Bart Stations would make more sense. Any hotel recommendations in SF?

glenn, honestly both the fairmont (in a state of decline since the swig family cashed out) & the mark hopkins seems kinda tired these days tho they both are super close to the tonga room which is always FUN in a kitschy way when there's a live band playing yacht rock classics

shocky's #1 choice these days is the old mandarin oriental now rebranded as a four season property with insane wall to ceiling panoramic window views (including the bathrooms) in the clouds plus if ur taking bart to berkeley it's right around the corner after lunch at the tadich grill...ur 1:00 pm kick off request on september 5th is duly noted

I worked for the Hyatt Regency San Francisco at Embarcadero Center back in the 70's and 80's. Embarcadero BART station is literally at the front door, as is the California Street cablecar. The rooms are not luxurious, but it is very convenient. And Tadich Grill is about 2 1/2 blocks up California Street. I have always liked the location, Embarcadero Center has a lot of shopping and other restaurants also, the Ferry Building is walking distance also. And you are not in Union Square area, which to me has always been very congested.
So, JMHO

good to see both max & collin playing well tonite in the tgl from west palm beach but let's be real here the bay squad is never gonna win with kiz (good guy, shocky & slim wadie met him on the putting green of his home course palmetto cc in aiken south carolina last spring) on the roster

yeah it drives shocky mucho loco to see morikawa gladly taking greens reading advice from his teammates justin & sahith in tgl but when he returns (someday, he's played more tgl rounds that pga tour rounds in 2026) to the pga tour refuse to take input from his own caddie the experienced mark urbanek

2027 high school football recruiting updates:

with the 2026 transfer portal mostly done (still need berkeley admissions acceptances & signed nil contracts for 3 committed defensive linemen plus a longsnapper), the staff is already building a wall around nor cal with 4 key pipeline high schools visited by the entire staff on monday plus a couple of in home visits with high priority targets such as serra high school's 3.3 gpa defensive back jeovanni henley & +1 athletic malakai taufoou

the staff's #1 target in the 2027 class is all american troy bowens who would be a day 1 starter as an elite apex predator pass rusher!!

cal defensive line & academics:

the most challenging position to recruit academically qualified student athletes to berkeley is the defensive line, the pool of high gpa prospects is relatively small

our coaches are gonna not only not be charged with technical development on the field but also serve as academic mentors/cheerleaders for our hard working d-line

and identifying high enuf gpa d-liners that will clear berkeley admissions & earn diplomas/certificates is gonna require a disciplined approach to evaluating prospects

yeah any cal football recruiting "info" that don't include a gpa is as ******* worthless as a longwell coached kicker!!

real talk: a lotta guys threw away berkeley degrees (basically a winning lottery tix for life) & now are in a ruthless dance of musical chairs with not enuf seats for everybody (or enrolled at an academically azzwipe skool), the transfer portal got 50 year consequences for the losers of this game

but the saddest loser is the 4.48 gpa 17 year old young lady who grew up in the nickerson gardens section 8 housing project who got her heart broken when berkeley (her dream school) sent her a rejection letter because some delusional nfl dreaming football ****tard took her admission spot (and then didn't graduate)

The closest she's been, I used to take her to Lefty O'Douls just off of Union Square, which is now long gone unfortunately. She is happy to shop at Costco and the outlet mall either in Livermore or Gilroy.

jb, just like the football program needs to replace its old expired cal tv "fans," the pga tour is also looking to grow it's under 30 years of age fanbase with tgl

tgl got music rocking the indoor so fi golf stadium in west palm beach with players mic-ed up talking **** with each other & playing really cool fantasy golf simulator holes like the "stinger" in the above collin morikawa gram post

https://instagr.am/p/DTyjP-PkTPo
yeah really uptight as **** old white people probably aren't gonna like tgl or cal's monster class and that's ok, nobody really gives 2 ***** wut they think anymore as they head off into the sunset playing checkers by themselves in the park on gamedays (and posting on game threads)...both organizations (along with berkeley, rich-the university social media content other than vals is stale & non resonating with anybody) gotta innovatively grow their fanbases thru relevant direct messaging/content to the targeted under 30 market segment in today's 6 second attention span economy, let's ******* go!!

I'd only seen bits and pieces of this. It looks like an awesome new idea for golf. Any old (me), decent (me) golfer who grew up spending a bunch of time on a golf course certainly did imaginary things like this to cut the boredom. I will pay more attention to it. Thanks Shocky.

2026 pga tournament at coachella: 1st round update

max homa (66, tied for 30th): playing with his buddy brian harman (giving each other fist bumps which is not customary on tour) & shocky coaching him up on a beautiful mid 70s day in the desert with nary a breath of wind, max homa wuz 7 under par when his 2nd shot from the middle of the fairway after a crushed drive on the par 5 16th hole dramatically just rolled off the green into the deepest maintained man made bunker on planet earth which necessitated max rolling in a mentally tough 10 footer for a bogey...homa's off speed irons are justin thomas level lethal & the driver swing is organized, let's ******* go max!!

yeah this **** got done despite the loud as **** espn golf live announcers ("we can hear every word ur saying")

michael kim (71, tied for 118th): with several pins on the far right with a water hazard to the right too, the stadium course set up wuz not favorable to a drawer of the ball like michael (fun fact: 95% of all pga touring pros work the ball left to right) but he still managed to birdie the FUN festival atmosphere par 3 17th "alcatraz" island hole & the tough par 4 18th hole to finish strong like a boss man

While I wholeheartedly agree that we need to keep the local talent here in the Bay Area, Duvay is actually from the Serra down in Gardena in SoCal.

Duvay and Juju are both national recruits ranked around the top 50 overall in their class. Pretty exciting that Cal is now swimming in these waters and taking these kind of swings!

I do not expect Cal to land either. But absolutely need to take swings for both. These players have been actively recruited by some major powers for a while now and to expect a flip is probably unlikely. But you never know.

Get in the game with them. Stay on them and then have a good season and maybe they will consider Cal late in the process. Or when/if they enter the portal as many do in later years.

With Tosh and the new staff you have a punchers chance that was not really possible with JW at the helm.
