I was interested so I looked it up:

The typical jail sentence for damaging a federal vehicle in the US is governed by 18 U.S.C. 1361

Edit because I did go look it up again. The 320 has had numerous reports of the gun firing when dropped or holstered. A US Airman was shot/killed in one incident. This video show it firing from drops and at the 22 second mark a holstered gun firing in a police station.



I remember a video on YouTube where someone explained what the mechanical problem was, but I don't see it now.
I also could have sworn Sig acknowledged and fixed it but I'm not seeing that now; I see denials by Sig.

I hope we eventually find out.

The Sig320 issues were big news in the firearms world in part because it was picked to replaced a Beretta that as near as I can tell is just about universally loved (mine is my favorite handgun by a country mile). This may literally be the only mainstream gun manufactured since say the civil war that misfires like this (up to this point it has been mechanically impossible)…and the military picked it. Head scratcher.

The government knows what happened. It was a negligent homicide like Oscar Grant's killing on the BART platform.

It was a negligent homicide whether they panicked hearing a fellow officer use the word "gun" (as in "I got the gun.") or they panicked hearing Pretti's gun discharge after the officer was taking it away from the scrum. The government knows the gun didn't discharge. It would make the panic more understandable ……..but it didn't happen.

I have a difficult time believing that the officers deliberately intended to murder a man they believed posed no threat to them. Some people do believe that, however.

Also heard there were studies of those AD events and many were found to be bogus.
These AD claims were simply used by LEO to turn a bad shoot into a "good" shoot.

For the Big Orange Crap Stain to have even hinted that Pretti was shot by his own sidearm shows just how desperate Trump is to lay the blame on someone else.

Stupid people shouldn't own firearms.

I've never had a problem.
