However, now I must take back my comments on the pants suit. Her usual pants suit would be a much better look than this sack, which someone must have found for her in a Goodwill Thrift Shop or equal. The leggings or shoes further detract from Kamala, the lady. She has a very pretty face. She or her dressmaker just don't have very good taste in clothes, unfortunately, in my humble opinion.
What do you like to wear.
Some of us would like to be the judge if your fashion choices.

What has what I like to wear got to do with this? Are you implying that I am trans?
My fashion choices? Look, kiddo, I am probably a generation older than Kamala, and you, as well. So I don't choose clothes for style. I choose 'em for warmth. I am freezing cold at home right now, with a broken thermostat. I am wearing 5 layers of clothing: tee shirt, polo, flannel shirt, chamois shirt, and bathrobe. That is the top half of my outfit. Bottom half is Depend, flannel pajama trouser, and gym-grade sweat pants, and compression stockings. Feet: two pairs of heavy merino wool stockings, sandals at home, New Balance sneakers on the street. At Church or formal events, I am coat and tie, suit or sportjacket and slacks, with some expensive composition shoes that look more like leather than like rubber.
When I dine with a lady for lunch or dinner, that is one of the few times I think about fashion. In that case, I ditch the bathrobe, and wear the flannel on the outside. (For a more formal place, I will go coat and tie) I buy the flannels and chamois shirts from LL Bean, in Maine, where it is a lot colder than San Francisco, and they are warm. For the street, a 650 down jacket, and a Cal Bears wool knit cap. In summer, an SF Giants cap. I have an old REI down jacket for the colder weather.
As for fashion today, where do we see evidence of that? I was down in the financial district a few weeks ago at lunch time, and I didn't see a single man wearing a coat and necktie. The dress today is jeans, tee shirt, sweat shirt, or hoodie, and sneakers, and most popular colors are black clothing and white or multi-colored sneakers. Leather shoes mostly disappeared. Over 90% of people I see today wear black. Not smart, but fashionable now. I can't believe how many pedestrians wear black at night. I've stopped counting all the narrow escapes I've had as a pedestrian.
If I do go out at night, I too, will opt for black. Maybe a black ski cap, hoodie or a black mask, and sneakers. I try to look like the rest of San Franciscans, and at night, that means kids out partying, muggers out mugging, and the beggars and homeless doing what they do.

It all makes sense now. I drive a Subaru and I've always been more interested in women than men. I'm a male lesbian! Gotta check out LL Bean for some new duds.Big C said:SFCityBear said:concordtom said:SFCityBear said:BearlySane88 said:

And who are you calling "very pro-LGBTQ"? I can't even remember what the letters mean, let alone give 'em the "pro" designation. And as far as that goes, I think the term was expanded to include many more letters and groups, I can't even name. So we are both pretty out of date, if we use that term today, aren't we?

SFCB had me at "bathrobe."
As you might have guessed, there is a story to the bathrobe.
It was Christmas Eve, about 25-30? years ago, a cold and rainy night, when I dipped into the local Walgreens for some items. In the gifts department, there was a small rack of clothes for sale, shirts and jackets, I think, and this one bathrobe was on sale. It was dull blue terrycloth look-a-like, and felt warm. I lived in a house with a lot of glass, and it was always freezing cold when I exited the shower in the morning. This robe might be a solution. Especially when I saw the price: 3 Simoleans! ("Bucks" for the youngsters who might read this)
I've had to do a couple of very minor repairs with needle and thread, but I expect it to last 10-20 years more.
I've only seen that material once before. In 1984, I got laid off from Bechtel, and I hopped a plane for London, hoping to catch up with some friends who were bumming around Europe. I have a cousin living in Thornton Heath, near London, and she took me shopping at some local department stores. I bought a sharp black jacket, which was lined with the material which had the same look and feel as the robe I would buy several years later. I don't remember the price, but it was dirt cheap. And really warm, and water proof. The outside of the jacket finally began to tear, and my tailor/sweat shop operator and seamstress, Sofia, says she can't repair it. So I have to part with it, after 42 years. Good Will and the Salvation Army won't take it, but I know it will keep some homeless person warm, so I plan to go undercover (bad pun) and deliver to a deserving-looking lost soul to keep him warm at night.

I was thinking a week ago it would be a drought summer with no snowpack having accumulated.
Are you suggesting we are out of that zone???
The entire state of California is officially out of drought this year. For the 1st time in 25 years not a single square mile of California is dry on the US Drought Monitor. Have to go back to December 2000 to find a similar situation. If you're 25 or younger you've always lived in a world where California has been entering or recovering from drought pic.twitter.com/X7Fz0RCjXP

As you can see, most of the other western states are still in drought conditions but CA is nice and moist!
Wow. This is hard to believe. It has not rained or snowed much from my vantage/experience.
Only two weeks of precipitation
It rained a lot in December, then a dry January, now it's raining again in February.
Yeah, I didn't think December was all that much and I don't think this last week has been all that much.
REMIGRATION: 39M Mexicans now live in the US, 23% of Mexico’s population. In 1960 it was barely 4M. Remittances top $64B, including $21B from California & $9.3B from Texas.
