What do you think of Trump's willfully driving housing prices up, does that sound like a good, smart policy to you?

Clearly, they never took an Econ. 1 class at CAL.
And I suspect some didn't even go to CAL.

Earlier this week, we actually had someone claim that deportations was actually helping to increase the supply of housing.

You know, because MILLIONS of undocumented immigrants OWN homes!

Lmao.

This reminds me of someone who clearly hasn't taken a health class at Cal. They actually posted earlier that colonoscopies weren't the gold standard for colon cancer prevention. Perhaps they were just trolling, sadly?

I was given the option and much as I don't enjoy the night before, I went for the full colonoscopy. Not taking chances with colon cancer, which killed my mother-in-law.

The new Fed Chairman is Kevin Warsh

Another product of Stanley Druckenmiller and indirectly George Soros.
His wife is cosmetics heiress Jane Lauder, worth $2.5 Billion.

If he starts lowering rates as soon as he takes the helm as Trump has indicated, he's going to lose a ton of CREDIBILITY by the other Fed Governors and labeled a "stooge".

Never mind what will happen with the yield on the 10 and 30 year.
Mortgage rates will soar, housing and the stock market will collapse.

And the world will look at our Central Bank as a joke.

It's truly sad what is happening here.

Time will only tell.

He's come off as Hawkish and not a fan of QE and wants to shrink the Fed's balance sheet.
I will believe it when I see it.

Metals getting crushed today thinking Warsh will be more orthodox and a Hawk.

Meanwhile, Fed Governor Waller says . . .

Can't wait to see how Trumpanzees will "spin" this upcoming revision given that they blasted the Biden Administration for their revisions to the jobs numbers. I wonder who Trump will fire next at the BLS?

More HYPOCRISY coming.

Cool story.

Undocumented immigrants are barred from FHA funded mortgages. Their access to mortgage financing is negligible and highly restrictive. You continue to ignore this fact.

"Home-made advantages of Brown people" ?

Oh the irony.

Yes, illegal immigrants own millions of homes; and yes, their culture, values, and strategic decisions - without going to CAL - has enabled them to leapfrog some.

Your myopic real estate points preclude you from seeing the bigger picture; you see the tree, not the forest.

Just like how you called me a racist in your post above.

If you are with the people, you don't need academics to tell you the visible truth. Real-world knowledge, visible truth. Latinos have dominated certain possibly good-paying blue collar trades like truck driving, trash services, cabinet installing, various construction trades, etc. Unlicensed general contractors can charge what GC charge. Certain occupations may vary by geography. Not to mention dominating the restaurant industry.

The Proof:

"More than 3.4 million undocumented immigrants are homeowners, according to the Migration Policy Institute analysis of the 2014 U.S. census data. That's about 31 percent of the undocumented population."

That 3.4 million number is 12 years lagging.

The home-made advantages Latinos have primarily originate from continued adoption of traditional values - marriage and being Catholic. Two incomes > one. Families are also often multi generational, parents, children, aunt living together, construct and rent out an in-law unit, etc. Central Valley homes, rural homes were cheap for decades. Latinos are pushing African Americans out of Los Angeles, Oakland, etc.

A decent amount of Latinos I work with also own property in Mexico, some for family, others investments, others future plans to retire in Mexico. Siblings or relatives rent or manage said properties. Allegedly lots of Tijuana residents pass into and through San Diego daily / weekly to work in the USA

I don't have any 'proof' at hand, but it seems abundantly clear that entrepreneurial Latinos have tens of thousands of businesses that often generate income and wealth.

Please, no more negative low-ball assumptions on Latinos. You're welcome. Class dismissed.

True.

In fact, we still see Trump voters in this ECONOMY THREAD that I started nearly a year ago still not admitting that tariffs are a TAX.

The lack of basic fundamental economic knowledge exhibited here by Trump voters is terribly poor.

It's embarrassing.

That was your quote in your post at the time.
