I had to "dumb" down my post for people here who suffer from poor reading comprehension.
Hence 7 edits.

Especially for those who claimed that I "whined and moaned" about a U.S. sanctioned ship making it thru the Strait.
That claim is yet another baseless IGNORANT claim, given my actual post shown below.

Iran could soon permanently harm its own oil production long term.

Facebook, Jeff Woodward: "Iran produces approximately 3.2 million barrels per day and consumes roughly 1.7 million domestically. The remaining 1.5 million barrels per day must be exported or stored. Iran's onshore storage capacity is 50 to 55 million barrels, currently about 60 percent full. That leaves approximately 20 million barrels of spare capacity. At 1.5 million barrels per day of surplus, the tanks fill in 13 days. Around April 27, Iran must begin shutting in wells.

"Shutting in mature Iranian oil wells is not like turning off a faucet. Iran's dominant formations, the Asmari and Bangestan carbonates in Khuzestan, are fractured water-drive reservoirs where decades of production created a delicate equilibrium. When you shut a well, water cones upward through fracture networks and invades the production zone. When you restart, the well produces water instead of oil. FDD and Rabobank estimate 300,000 to 500,000 barrels per day of permanent, irrecoverable loss from prolonged shut-ins. SPE studies document asphaltene precipitation causing 23 to 65 percent permeability reduction. The blockade does not just stop exports. It kills the wells that produce them."

Not sure how much oil they can ship via rail to China, Pakistan and central Asia, but that isn't a negligible quantity. Bombing these shipments is going to upset China, which can retaliate by arming Iran.

When Iran runs out of room to store her oil in three weeks, water mixes with oil, and permanently reduces their capacity on current wells substantially.

Which is bringing pressure from customers China and India into the mix. (John Solomon.)

This week, floating storage of Iranian crude a method of storing oil and gas on open waters away from land or ports rose to 42 MMbbl (or 42 million barrels) up from 38 MMbbl on Sunday, 12 April.

Floating storage is defined as crude-carrying tankers that have remained idle and reduced their speed for at least seven days, essentially "waiting for instructions" on water.

Because the Iranian oil supply is exceeding demand, some tankers have been unable to discharge their load and find buyers.

"While any reduction in Iranian exports would primarily impact China, which absorbs the vast majority of these flows, overall availability of Iranian crude is expected to remain ample," explained Mr Rauball.

"We are observing significant concentrations of floating storage near China, including roughly 15 MMbbl in the Yellow Sea and around 7 MMbbl in the South China Sea."

Mr Rauball suggests that this could mean up to 120 days of availability of Iranian crude for China, suggesting Iran is unlikely to be impacted by the blockade anytime in the near future due to "substantial volumes already on the water".

"In total, Iranian crude on water including both floating storage and cargoes in transit stands at approximately 190 MMbbl," he explained.

"With China typically importing around 1.5 MMbbl/d of Iranian crude, this implies roughly 120 days of cover under current conditions.

FYI:

Furthermore, Iran's shadow fleet of tankers poses a further challenge to the US Navy, shipping experts have warned in comments to The Wall Street Journal, allowing vessels linked to ports to transit undetected using sophisticated methods. According to Lloyd's List, a falsely-flagged, US-sanctioned tanker linked to China exited the strait early on Tuesday.

"It's important to note that we should expect more AIS manipulation in the region where ships coming from Iran may pretend to be sailing from different countries to mask the country of origin," says Noam Raydan, an analyst at the Washington Institute. AIS refers to a maritime tracking system that broadcasts a ship's identity, position and speed.

Wouldn't it take closer to 240 MMbbl/d of oil (vs 22) to provide China 120 days supply? Again, based on what is posted, the math ain't mathing. Garbage article.

The above posted argument is composed of simple generic counters that can be used against any blockade yet acts like it is tailored to U.S.'s specific action. This is further proof that the posted article is complete garbage. Iran loves it though.

Before the War, Beijing bought about 11% of its oil from Iran.
As a result, China is the Asian nation least affected by the war.

Clearly, the blockade is as much about China as Iran.
China has stockpiled a ton of oil and can afford to take a "wait and see" position by relying on its reserves.

Beijing can afford to go without Iranian supplies for several weeks. My math says that even a 2-month embargo would only see China depleting its emergency reserves by about 10%.

Saudi Arabia signaled it was going to cut exports to China by 50%, so Iran will absorb that shortfall.

Things however will get pretty dicey not just for China but for most oil importers if the US/Israel bombs Iranian oil facilities and Iranians retaliate by bombing GCC facilities. I don't think that would be in our interest, we'd be looking at gas prices well above $6-$7 nationwide, severe stagflation, and Russia would get a huge windfall and power over Asia and Europe. Israel wants that though, as it would be the only way to weaken the Iranian regime.

150 million barrels sold post Maduro.

Q2 GDP should be positively impacted by our increased export oil exports.

Miami Herald: "The oil sale figure underscores the scale of cash flow generated by the reopening of Venezuela's oil sector, providing a significant boost to the finances of the state-owned oil company, PDVSA, and offering the interim government additional resources for imports, debt obligations and efforts to stabilize the country's economy."

National Today: "Canadian Crude Price Plummets After Trump's Venezuela Oil Move"

AI: "America First Refining (AFR) is set to begin construction in Q2 2026 on a major new, large-scale oil refinery at the Port of Brownsville, Texas. This project is touted as the first new, significant US refinery in over 50 years, designed to process American light shale oil."

Google AI: "Several major U.S. LNG export terminals are under construction, primarily along the Gulf Coast, with over 32 projects proposed or building to increase capacity. Key projects include:

- Plaquemines LNG (Louisiana)
- Golden Pass LNG (Texas)
- Rio Grande LNG (Texas)
