Unfortunately, I doubt there is any air between Vance and Trump regarding the wars we are supporting.

The problem with being VP as a way of boosting your own presidential prospects is that the nature of the job requires you to support everything the President does publicly, regardless of your own feelings on the matter. So you inherit all of his bad decisions. Even if later on in a campaign you say you'd do things differently, there are a million quotes of you supporting everything as it happened in real-time.

I think most people with serious presidential aspirations would do better to turn down the job.

If Vance had been the top guy all along, I think there's a good chance we wouldn't be in this war, so there's that.

However, when he sold his soul to the devil to get the Senate nomination (and then to be on the 2024 ticket), I lost all respect for him, permanently. Smart guy, but...
